Awesome!!!
Posted 26 Feb 2021 on HotelsThoroughly enjoyed the stay. A great place to stay for a getaway to thekkady with family or friends. The rooms were clean, food was awesome and the views, breathtaking. Special mention to the friendly and helpful staff, particularly Ms. Anju and Ms. Aishwarya manning the front desk

Super Friendly Staffs
Posted 4 Nov 2020 on HotelsOne of the beautiful places I have ever stayed at!! Mesmerizing 360 degree view of Thekkady right through my window was just breathtaking. Right from the beginning of check-in the staffs were super friendly and hospitable and made sure each moment we spent there was special. Our parents and us were equally scared to go for a trip during this pandemic situation. They made sure we felt safe sanitizing each and every step we take. They sanitized our luggage and everything. They also mentioned that they open the resorts block by block and when the guests check out they close that block for 48 hours disinfecting and sanitizing everything in that block. At night they helped me surprise my wife with a romantic candle light dinner on the top deck which throughout the day me and Manu (manager) was planning secretly without my wife knowing. They have a nice bar, swimming pool, library and a gym(even though they are not open now because of covid guideline). The staff really follows the "Aditi Devo Bhava" or "Guest is God" attitude. The most important thing that attracted me and will keep us coming back soon in future is the view of Periyar river and Thekkady from our balcony. Thank you Manu, Shine and Suresh for making our lockdown travel so exquisite❤️.

High quality hotel - strongly recommended
Posted 2 Mar 2020 on HotelsPoetree is a well designed, well maintained, immaculate hotel - solidly international 4 star. The pictures don’t do it justice. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the restaurant food is excellent. And big thumbs up for having an alcohol license.
There are a couple of inaccuracies with the on line descriptions. It’s several kilometres from the lake - many descriptions make it sound as though there are lake views at the very least. Also the club rooms, or at least some of them, have significantly restricted mountain/hill views. The manager was very helpful and upgraded me, but I would have been frustrated if that hadn’t been possible. I’d say well worth paying for more then the club room. If mobility is an issue, do check out where you would be. Like many of the hill station hotels, the rooms are spread across a steep site.
The infinity pool is wonderful, and I had some of the best massages in the spa.
I think Poetree is a great stay and incredibly good value for money.
Would definitely stay again and fully recommend.

4.5*?! Foisty, damp rooms and out in the sticks!
Posted 25 Aug 2017 on HotelsUnfortunately we were disappointed with this stay, especially considering it is 4 1/2 stars. 3 stars would have been generous. Stayed one night in a room and one in a cottage. Both rooms had a bad foist smell and the bedding felt damp. The window sills in the restaurant were lined with dead bugs, on more than one occasion. We actually had to move one time because the sight was putting us off our food. The swimming pool is amazing, if it's warm enough weather which unfortunately it wasn't for us. The hotel is out in the sticks and you can't walk any where nearby. Food was ok and breakfast was good. Whilst the staff were nothing but friendly, we felt like we were pestered every time we had a meal.
We were glad to leave the hotel after the second night.
