Calm Hotel in the Chaos of the City
Posted 26 Jun 2024 on HotelsAs we jostled our way through the chaotic Palermo food market under the blazing heat, we could not believe it when we opened the heavy wooden doors into the oasis of cool calm of the hotel.
Daniella had fantastic customer service sharing us with us info on the hotel and then a printed map with an explanation of the layout of the city of Palermo. Our room in the attic was perfect and we loved the decor a combination of Tunisian and Italian,
The hotel organised us a taxi for our airport transfer and as we had an early start a packed breakfast was delivered to the room

I would thoroughly recommend this B&B. The staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for you. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was 10 out 10. It would definitely stay here again. It's so close to shops, restaurants and all the sights. Aurora, Daniella, Donna and Paulo thank you for a wonderful stay.

In fairness, we literally only slept there, and only for 1 night. Still, its in a rough neighborhood, we felt compelled to take a taxi home at yhe end of the evening and the room had NO windows. The common areas were pleasant enough. When we arrived, the greeting at the front desk was not particularly nice.

I am so sorry to read your review and honestly I don't understand such a bad score.
As you wrote, you literally only slept here. Actually, we have been in touch before of your arrival and we provided you the information to reach us from the airport and then helped you booking a taxi to drive you to the hotel; the lady that you have found at your arrival was not a receptionist, but she tried to do her best to welcome you. However, you told her that you just wanted to use the room and quickly get back to the driver that was still waiting for you in front of the hotel; you were such in a hurry that you forgot the keys in the room door. She literally didn't have the time to give you any information, neither to show you how to use the roof window (wich you clearly didn't notice when you came back). At about 8pm you kindly made a call to inform us that you wouldn't have came back before late night and the problem was that you didn't have paied for the room yet. I offered you the chance to pay when you would have came back to the hotel or the day after, before of your departure. Since you were going to leave at 7am, I also told you that we would have prepared a take away breakfast for you, with sandwiches, cake, fresh fruit and tipical cookies (we serve breakfast from 7.30am until 10am). When you finally came back at the b&b was 11.45pm and my collegue was still on duty, so you payed for the bill and then went straight to the room because you were too tired. Even if you only slept here all of us tried to take care of your needs and requests, as we are used to do with all of our guests. It is a pity that you didn't mention your discontent when we would have been able to do something. If you will ever come back again, we'll hopefully have more time to welcome you and assist you at our best.

The hotel is extremely convenient to all the major attractions in Palermo. We also felt that the staff was especially friendly and helpful. Parking is available in a public square nearby which at first appeared to be somewhat risky, but we had no issues with it. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
