Attend a classical music concert or peruse an art exhibition at the famous hall that is the focal point of the Cannes Film Festival.

The Palace of Festivals and Congress Hall is the home of the Cannes Film Festival. This is where many movies are screened and prizes are awarded during the annual spectacular. For the rest of the year, the landmark building hosts a variety of exhibitions and events, including boat shows, ballet performances, concerts and conferences.

Stand in front of the iconic building, which is often seen as a backdrop for numerous premieres and red carpet events. Admire the magnificent glass-fronted façade of the Théâtre Claude Debussy and walk up the main staircase where many stars have had their photos taken.

Embark on a 90-minute guided tour in English of the palace. Inside the building, you will find many halls, foyers, theaters and auditoriums. Pause to take in the scale and design of the bright and spacious main foyer. See the Auditorium Louis Lumière, which has seats for more than 2,300 people. This is where the prestigious Palme d'Or is awarded, the festival's highest form of recognition to moviemakers. Learn about the history of the famous film festival.

In addition to the insightful tours, there is lots more going on at the palace. Visit its official website to find out what’s bringing in the crowds during your time in the city. Alternatively, once you are in Cannes, get an up-to-date schedule of events from the Tourist Office, which is next door.

The landmark building is just to the east of Cannes Harbour. It marks the western end of La Croisette, the boulevard that connects the beach to the heart of the city.

Guided tours of the Palace of Festivals and Congress Hall are held throughout the year, except during the film festival. There is a small charge, but this is waived for children under the age of 16. After your tour, go for a stroll along the boulevard, one of the most famous streets in France.
