Travelling through
Posted 13 Jul 2019 on HotelsTravelling from Paris to Nordic, we decided to stay one night in Paderborn and found this good offer on line. We decided to buy breakfast at the hotel while afterwards we should have taken it in the city.

Elsen Hotel
Posted 4 Jul 2019 on HotelsNot our first choice when staying in Elsen. We arrived at 3pm and reception appeared to closed. There was no respons to the bell but we found kitchen staff to chase management. Apparently the reception closes at 2pm, even though check in is after 3pm. We were not too impessed with our check in but the room was comfortable. The hotel is about. 1k from Elsen centre. We went out to visit family and came back just before 10pm. The hotel front door was locked. We rang the bell just before we saw a small notice to use the "night" door. The manager did not seem impressed that we used the bell. We were not told about the night door at check in. We asked where the bar/beergarden was and were told it was closed. The breakfast was excellent at an extra €8 per person. There was a €5 charge for guaranteed parking and we paid this as we were told that the free parking at the rear might be full when we returned. We will probably not use this hotel again.

Would prefer use of a communal lounge rather than feeling confined to room

Spacey
Posted 30 Jun 2017 on HotelsSpacey and room, nice bathroom. There is no lift, and the wifi was not easy to use. My husband was not able to connect to internet. Otherwise OK. Stayed one night and did not eat breakfast.

Pros: The Staff whit the greatest of attitude, and the bus stop.
Cons: A better noise stopping windows.
Location: A water park, with a decent amount of birds ( for bird watchers )
This is a small hotel, but with great staff, although it has no elevator, nor air-conditioning (not that you will need it) the staff makes you feel king in Paderborn , in front of the hotel its a city bus that takes you straight to downtown Paderborn in 15 min.
Highly recommended .

Pleasant stay, staff were nice - price reflected the overall feel of the building as did the offered services. No complaints.

Disappointed
Posted 1 Aug 2013 on HotelsArrived to find the hotel restaurant closed. Had to get a taxi to Paderborn for our evening meal.€40. On our return, only around 9 o'clock, the hotel bar and reception was locked for the night. "Oh we'll" was the only reply to our morning complaint. No apology.
