The views are outstanding and the bed is comfortable. We booked this property believing there was a bistro on site which would be open over lunchtime at least. Both my husband and I checked in the shop, which is also reception, food would be available. We were both told separately that the bistro was closed but someone was coming to cook for us. At 6pm my husband went to ask again but the shop was all closed up. Nobody turned up to make breakfast for us the next morning either. There are no other eating places in the village so we were left with nothing to eat. I emailed the property and had no response. Other issues are the doors to the balcony do not open or close properly and did not lock. There were ants inside, we were bitten through the night. Oyster bay is only accessible by gravel road and dirt tracks which are constantly used by big wagons. Be prepared to be covered in dust. Oyster Bay is stunning but unless you come fully prepared to self cater don’t bother with Die Windmeul, they couldn’t care less about their customers.

Hi Good day I am very sad to hear that you had such a terrible experience at Die Windmeul. We trust our staff to take good care of our guests as my husband and i work on a farm and cannot be there ourselves. Reception is bad on the farm so i cannot check my emails regularly and only got your messages now. I apologize on behalf of our staff.
