Very nice hotel, especially the thermals pools, it is located by car about 10 minutes from town center, but totally worth it!

This property is quite far from the city. It is in a beautiful pastoral setting. The buffet was excellent and the dining room was elegant.

Disappointing, remote hotel
Posted 3 Feb 2018 on HotelsThis hotel is advertised as 5 star, it is more a 4 star. It is in a remote area and is really the only place in the small village of Las Caldas. The booking site information is misleading - the swimming pool/spa is 50 euros extra per person, the thermal pool is 20 euros extra and the gym 5 euros extra. The reception staff did provide a pass to the thermal pool when we made a complaint. The dining room and breakfast staff were friendly and professional. Food quality was good.

Nice hotel, great for relaxing.
Posted 22 Jan 2018Nice hotel, great for relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, and dinner menu was very good as well. There are a series of pool services (you have to pay extra to enter the pool). There is the "balneario real" witch was very nice but it is supposed to be adults only and there were lots of kids there, other wise very nice. Would have liked to have a coffee maker in the room. Over all nice hotel but some parts lack maintenance, specially in the common areas the hotel is starting to show its age. Easy access from Oviedo (15 min car drive). Over all nice but expensive if you add the price of the room plus the access to the pools.

Great scenery and superb spa facilities
Posted 18 Aug 2017 on HotelsFirst of all I would like to point out the superb location if what you want is relaxation (one street village in the valley of Asturias mountains). Secondly the 2 great spas.
No so positive: the complex has 2 hotels but just one reception which is in the area of the 4 star hotel that means a lot of walking to get to your room (specially if you are staying in the modern building of the 5* facility). The 5*, including rooms, looks a little bit tired and I would add is more a 4* sup than 5*.
Breakfast, what you may expect at least for this category (nice hall where it is served)
Regarding the spas the only not so good thing was that in Balneario Real the Hall of Colums was closed for renovation and it should have specific area (or opening hours) for families and another one adults only. The other spa Aquaxana was a little bit crowded but ok and great open air pool in the middle of the woods.
To finish mention that there was a misunderstood with the reservation and thanks to Eduardo at the front desk it was solved.

Very comfortable and quiet! Great SPA!

Pros: I lover the large modern room facing the garden, the external thermal pool and the smaller SPA.
Esspresso and fresh orange juice!
Cons: Signage and way-finding!
Location: Great outdoors if the weather is good, cycling, walking, etc.
Great nearby restaurant La Vizcaina
Initially I was given a room facing the road, but even the road was not busy, I could hear the cars passing over the stones. I asked for a room facing the back and it was PERFECT! I tried both SPA areas and it was a nice experience!
The hotel is large and the way finding is not great (you easily get lost over the corridors) and no signs are in English.
Hotel staff speak English at reception which was helpful, but no one else does... People are still very friendly and trying their best, always smiling!
I could really relax after a long day in Oviedo!
I truly recommend this hotel and the smallest SPA!
