This was the most disappointing hotel of two trips to Morocco. We had booked a suite for two adults and upon arriving, we were given a 'family suite.' A family suite is a room with a double bed, and an adjoining room with 2 twin beds. Why would two adults celebrating an anniversary want an extra bedroom with twin beds? No sitting room, no sitting area, not even a dresser or chest of drawers.
Furthermore, as this hotel allows children, we were awoken throughout the night by the neighbouring family suites whom all had children in tow. The room looked nothing nicer than an average hilton and when asked to change rooms, we were told that we were given a suite as promised. There was no fireplace, no sofa, not even an armchair. Through the twin bed room, there was a terrace which looked directly into a wall. Over the wall was a construction site.
Upon checkout, we were billed for a number of gin and tonics as well as cocktails. Neither of us drink liquor and spent some time baffled and arguing with front desk staff to have the charges removed as the staff treated us like we were liars.
Stay away from this hotel as the prices here do not match the level of comfort, food, drink or service. I had so looked forward to a stay here and wish terribly that we had avoided this hotel. It nearly ruined the rest of a lovely holiday, but thankfully we can now laugh at our horrible stay here.

Dated rooms
Posted 15 Oct 2018 on HotelsThe hotel garden is truly amazing. Ourika has a lot of things to do and is beautiful. Unfortunately the guest rooms are very dated. Overall the stay was nice but the rooms need to be renovated.

The hotel is far from being wheelchair acssassible but the staff is always available to help with the stairs. If you looking to retreat but still connect to the world throug WiFi, you are wasting your time. The place is a retreat with no communications capabilities. Our room was nice moer 21 and we will always use in the future. Having a private swimming pool and the look of the mounts, was fantastic.

TDLR: Love it for the views and Atlas experience, but bring your own food and don’t expect a warm welcome.
The Location of and views from the Kasbah were breathtaking. The staff was not extremely helpful (excepting the person answering emails before we arrived who was outstanding), and seemed quite put-out by the simplest request. We had to make changes to our appointments due to sickness and this was not excepted well buy the staff. The language barrier it was difficult to overcome at times. This was especially true when two of our party became ill from eating the food. We spoke to two other guests outsider party who experience the same illness from eating the food at the Kasbah.

Laid back comfort in stunning position.
Posted 26 Apr 2018Don’t be put off by the tortuous rough road leading to the hotel - it’s worth it for the stunning hilltop position. This is an interesting former mansion with courtyards and beautifully maintained grounds, converted with care and attention to detail - laid back atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff.
Our room (No 1) was the size of a small flat and had it’s own private west facing terrace.
The food was excellent, good value and imaginative with a daily changing menu using fresh produce from the hotel garden.
An excellent centre for hiking and organised visits to local villages and markets.

Wonderful surroundings, colonial style interior with beautiful rooms downstairs done in typical Moroccan features.
Hotel room had a breathtaking view and was a really good size. Only small complaint is over a weak plumbing system making the toilets tricky to use.
Food was also excellent and varied and good value for money (including wine).
Staff friendly and attentive.
