Nice hotel across from the beach.

Pros: Close to old town, dinner in hotel, includes breakfast.
Cons: Slight smell of cigarette smoke, so making this a completely non smoking property would be the only thing, but don’t let this deter you.
Great staff especially Andrea. Very nice restaurant. Excellent location. View room was worthwhile.

beach-side in town
Posted 22 Sep 2016 on HotelsThe hotel was good, the room looking on the sea. Quiet, great location for town, good parking nearby, big room (studio), nice balcony if small. The shower needs changing - tiny, very dated water.jet model. Beaches nearby prob great, but the once we found was a bit scrubby, but ok. You need a car.The town is lovely, right on your doorstep. The breakfast was fine, usual Italian, plus cheese.
As a gay couple ,very welcoming.
Window cleaning would make it shine!

Avoid this hotel
Posted 3 Aug 2016 on HotelsApart from its location at the beach and one pleasant staff member named Fabio this hotel has absolutely nothing to recommend it. On arrival we were greeted by a grim manager whose dour disposition did not improve throughout our stay.
Our room, while spacious, was furnished with cheap flatpack furniture. Two cheap chairs were provided on the balcony with no table and only withered geraniums in a cheap plastic pot for decoration.
Tea/coffee making facilities were available on request but never arrived when we asked. Toiletries were provided in the bathroom on the day we arrived only, not replaced at any time. Breakfast was very poor – a small basket of bread, one portion pack of Cornflakes for two people, packaged toasts and biscuits; Other items such as orange juice, yoghurt, croissants etc were provided only on request each morning.
We paid €600 for a double room for four nights and this was the worst value for money we found anywhere in southern Italy or during any of our extensive travels in Europe and beyond over many years. Otranto is a lovely resort and it is a pity that the management of this hotel don’t make a little more effort.
This hotel should be avoided.

Central to attractions

Pros: Ten minute walk from train station, across the street from sea walk, close to beaches, five minutes to the castle and cathedral.
Location: This hotel is more suitable for guests who like to be where the action is, not so good if you prefer peace and quiet.
Large rooms, many facing onto sea or river.
Very basic breakfast.
Restaurant on site and many more within walking distance.

Good location
Posted 6 Oct 2015 on HotelsHotel is well placed on the sea front with excellent views (from the front-facing rooms). Breakfast choice is simple, there was some difficulty with knowing what exactly was on offer as there is no menu; it seemed you had to ask for something to find out if it was available ie we asked for croissant as the guests on the neighbouring table had them, but after a couple of days we realised other items were also on the menu like brioche and bread. It's a language thing! We did find the bed very hard on the back, but room cleanliness was very good, the maid also spoke almost no English but we made ourselves understood! We did love the region and the old town is very pretty.
