We decided to stay at the Comfort Inn Oshawa, based solely on price and we were not really expecting much. We stayed here so we did not have to travel in winter for medical appointments. The room was basic but very clean, not even a coffee maker, but then again I can count the number of times I have used one in a hotel on one hand in 40 years. Breakfast was included and adequate. Staff were fantastic. Operating the heat in the room was a little confusing and a small sign would have helped. All in all a comfortable stay and you can not beat the price.

It’s loud. The city salt yard is directly beside the hotel. Heavy equipment all night long. Rooms aren’t completely renovated yet. The light switch at entry doesn’t work. The phone didn’t work and there was no lighting at the bed. We moved the desk lamp over to the night stand for light.

The hotel is under construction..but were working on the first floor and not the second where we were. The bed comforter had dirt marks on it, the shower had hair in it. Room wasnt ready at check in at 3. The main door doesnt close properly, so there is a gap to the hall, so you can hear everything. One of the worst sleeps i have ever had at a hotel and for $250/night.

The property is undergoing major renovations. There are huge gaps in the doors between our room and the hall. I could put my fingers through. There is no noise barrier and the room(2nd one we tried) had no coffee, microwave, bedside lamps. I had to figure out that the furnace was not plugged in when it didn’t work. The phone didn’t work which meant every newly discovered inconvenience meant a walk to the front desk.

Lots of construction at the hotel should not have been taking guests. The staff & management where amazing but the construction, dust and noise was prohibitive.

Unfortunately this property was under renovations and we did not know. No dining room, no elevators (we were on the second floor), no wifi. Staff were great nonetheless. It would have been nice to know about the limited amenities and renovations before booking, we would have booked elsewhere. Found sheet metal screws in the hallway floors and cut wires on our room floor.
