A holiday in Oppegård allows you to enjoy the sea and visit one of the largest spa facilities in the Nordics. You can learn more about one of the country's pioneering adventurers and visit several exciting nature areas. Oppegård is situated just outside Oslo, so you can also combine your visit with more urban experiences.
Oppegård is a municipality in the Follo district of the county of Akershus, situated on the eastern side of the Oslo fjord. Gjersjøen splits the municipality in two and most residents live on the eastern side of the lake, which also supplies the drinking water for the municipality. On the western side of the lake, you will also find Svartskog forest.
Visit Uranienborg, the home of Roald Amundsen, which has been kept exactly as it was when he lived there. A summer visit should include Ingjerstrand bad, a sea water park with a diving tower and a restaurant. The Well is one of the most amazing spa facilities in the country and is definitely worth a visit. You can even practise your swing at the Oppegård Golf Club.
Oppegård offers incredible scenery and has urban areas located nearby, too. The proximity to Oslo allows you to combine your visit with a visit to the capital. It could be handy to have access to a hire car, but you can also get around on public transport.
The closest airport is Gardermoen, so if you coming from afar, you are likely to fly in here. It takes around 50 minutes to drive from the airport to Oppegård, and if you need to hire a car, you can do so at the airport. If you’d rather take the train, the Østfold Line also passes through Oppegård.
You’ll never need to travel too far to find great holiday experiences. Norway boasts numerous beautiful places, with Oppegård being one of them. You can choose whether to enjoy yourself by the seaside or experience the vibrant city life just around the corner.
