"I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night. Nearby grocery stores, cafes, a bakery, a handy mini-mart, and easy access to trams downtown. I walked to the stadium in 20 minutes along the little river. I travel with a dog, and we were glad there was a lift in the building. There is a fee of 15 CHF per night for a dog, which I think is a bit steep, but I understand that we are all paying for all the dogs that may or may not be well behaved in hotels. "

"On arrival, we were early but our room was ready. The receptionist was really friendly and informative surrounding the hotel and the local area. The room was nice and big, with two separate beds and a separate bathroom. It was quiet. The only thing I would have liked would have been a kettle in the room but there was free tea and coffee in the reception but not for first thing in the morning. And a fridge would have been nice but I am being picky now because its so good. The bar was really nice to have a drink in at the end of the night. They let us borrow an umbrella to go out in during the day. Like I said, very accommodating and really friendly. Great stay. Should have stayed here the other two nights we were in Basel!!"
