Hotels near Oceanview Boulevard

"I love the portola! Only place I stay and travel almost monthly down to Monterey. The rooms are always clean, spacious, the beds are very comfy. Partial bay view is a must. Balcony has two chairs nice to enjoy ur coffee on or listen to some wildlife (sea lions). Basically 4 restaurants attached to the hotel, Carmel bakery n coffee inside the hotel. The location is prime! Walk right and head down Alvarado st you got ur breweries and 10-15 restaurants. Go left and you’re on the Monterey pier , 7 restaurants, a bunch of clothes ans candy shops and my favorite whale watching. I do every time and it’s so close to portola. "

"Terrible room, toilet was not stable ,water came up from the floor when flushed, the sink also leaked water from the floor, the shower had sewage coming from the drain, I went to the front desk,although they were kind,they only took my email complaint and stated I need to give management 48 hours for a response. Clearly, I feel I should be refunded,I also have pics of proof if needed,and included in my email to management at sea breeze inn. I might add this was a handi cap room I was given,and was dangerous with that very wobbly unstable toilet. "

"We arrived at the hotel at 8PM after a long drive with a cranky toddler. We we got there, there was a sign in the door that said "back at 8:35". We had to wait 35 minutes in the parking lot to be able to check in and get our room. Several other guests were waiting outside as well. There was also no soap at the sink to wash your hands so we had to use body soap from in the shower. The room itself was okay, nothing terrible. Clean enough. "

"My wife and I stayed in one of the rooms with ocean view. It was perfect. The whole experience felt more like an Airbnb / bed and breakfast guesthouse. The appliances were of high quality, and the bed was very comfortable. With the view from our room, waking up in the morning never felt so good. One of the most memorable stays in our book."

"As a historic hotel with relatively good rates, this is not a luxury hotel. Rooms are on smaller side (there are choices in size) towels less fluffy white, floors creaky, most parking is very near on the street. There are lots of pluses....It's well located to the beach and food options, staff is super friendly. There's a very nice public area to sit w wine and cookies in the afternoon, and a garden patio area outside. Enjoy Joghurt w granola an fresh fruit at breakfast. This is a repeat stay place for us."
