If you appreciate art, history, fine dinning as well as exceptional beauty and hospitality...then Melfort House is the place for you! From the moment we drove up to the house, stepping into the foyer and receiving a warm welcoming greeting from Leah, we were awestruck! The entire house and property is a work of art. The bedroom made us both gasp with it's charm - a complimentary decanter of Scotch whisky on the antique dresser. The king-sized bed was so very comfortable. The bathroom had the most comfortable soaking tub. The sitting room and dining room simply beautiful with so many antiques and quirky items on display. The view from the drawing room and grounds - magnificent! Matthew is a passionate and accomplished Chef. We highly recommend Melfort House. As we commented in the guestbook: "It was like staying overnight in a museum"! Our intention is to return next year.

Abosutley stunning property in a lovely, calm village.
Breakfast was fantastic. Once in a lifetime experience.
Would recommend this to anyone heading to the west of Scotland!

Matthew, the host, was very accommodating & prepared an outstanding 4 course dinner & made to order Scottish breakfast.
Our visit there stands out as the best in Scotland!

This one night stay was a disappointment
The host was away & booked evening meal was not available
The visit was no where near approaching the hotel's website aims

I am sorry that your stay was not what you had anticipated however I should point out that no evening meal was booked with me either through Expedia or by email. The only contact with melfort house was through this Expedia portal.
