Great location and welcome, Spartan rooms
Posted 29 Jul 2018
Pros: Location. View. Pool ringed with olive trees. Breakfast on the terrasse with cigalas
Cons: Aircon in rooms, especially giving to the back
Location: Great base to radiate in drome provencale
Great base to discover drome provencale. Warm family welcome. Avoid room without balcony in searing July heat

Good food and warm welcome!
Posted 31 Dec 2015 on HotelsLa Picholine is a great little hotel close to the centre of Nyons. It's up the hill above the town and is about a 10 min walk to the centre. Maybe 15 min back to the hotel as hill is quite steep. The hotel is what you'd expect from a three star, the rooms are clean and there's wifi? Also there's a swimming pool when warm enough. I visit regularly for business and always stay here, always a warm welcome and the food is excellent! La Picholine is not a modern sleek hotel, but to be honest you're unlikely to find that kind of hotel in this part of Provence? If you want a reasonably priced hotel with a warm welcome and good food, then I recommend La Picholine!

Lovely location but NO air con in the rooms

Cons: Put air con in the rooms
Loved where we stayed. Easy walk down into the town. But we stayed here on a 30 plus degreees day and theres not aircon in the rooms. Breakfast was a little average with lots of prepackaged biscuits.

Ok
Posted 20 Jul 2015 on WotifIf passing through, ok for one night.. Hotel is in a residential area, for a few hours I could hear the neighbors arguing along with there dog consistently barking through the night & no air conditioning... makes for a difficult sleep in summer.

Perfectly acceptable hotel
Posted 5 Aug 2014 on HotelsWe spent one night here while exploring Provence. The hotel is up the hill, a bit away from the town center. That could be a plus or minus, depending on your perspective. Going into town to see the lavender distillery or old town requires a car or other transportation. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Good hotel with a very nice garden
Posted 28 Jul 2014 on HotelsWe stayed in La Picholine 3 days in July 2014. The service was very good. The room spacy and clean and food good. It is nice hotel for exploring the region.

Stunningly beautiful spot
Posted 29 Jun 2014 on HotelsComfortable room with large bed. Balcony with beautiful view to mountains. Could do with refreshing window boxes. Lovely swimming pool surrounded by olive trees. Good value evening meal especially starters and deserts. Sometimes service v. Slow. Very friendly welcome. Beautiful area - lovely drive through countryside to Vaison--laRomaine and to motorway via Grignan. On latter route many lavender fields and vineyards. Would definitely stay here again and for longer.
