Great location in old Bagan.
Spacious room and a riverside restaurant with spectacular sunset view!
The room is very spacious.
But the bathroom needs to be repaired. The towels are worn and frayed.
It was very cold during the night (end Dec)

Everything about our stay at Bagan Hotel River View was excellent-- from the views, to the staff, to the pool, to our room and small patio. We were able to rent e-bikes from the hotel and bike around the pagodas, which was lovely. The thoughtfulness that went in to each and every detail of this hotel made our 2-day stay not at all long enough. Would highly recommend to anyone going through Bagan.

Amazing grounds and location
Posted 22 Feb 2020 on HotelsAmazing place! Beautiful grounds and location right on the river are the best part. Helpful staff with adequate English ability, excellent breakfast. Close to several restaurants and e-bike rental. Rooms need updating, which explains the lower room rates vs nearby hotels, but above features compensate for this.

We have to thank all the staff because they’re incredible and the property is amazing.
Haven said that.
The room was awful, the worst room I’ve been to. It is pricey compared to the other hotels in town, and it is not the hotel fault, it is on Expedia. I tried to contact them and We never could, we had to change hotels, even if we already paid more nights.
This is the last time I trust in Expedia, they’re no objective and they don’t check the properties and if they do, they don’t care about the travelers because if they did they would post some of the photos of the rooms, I have quiet few.

This is a gorgeous property... more of a garden on the banks of the Irrawaddy than a mere "hotel"... even had two ancient pagodas nestled in among the trees. There was a spacious deck area that was perfect for watching the sun set over the river. My room was comfortable, and somewhat rustic with a wooden sort of decor... I really liked it... the bathroom could use some sprucing up but I am a traveler not a tourist, and I find that sort of thing of little consequence. I highly recommend this property, and I know that I will certainly stay here again.

Great location, lovely grounds, below average room
Posted 8 Jan 2020 on HotelsAmazing location, right next to Gawdawpalin, one of the main temples in Bagan. Lovely grounds and the riverside bar is great for sunset drinks. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable.Sound proofing (as with most hotels in Myanmar) was very poor. The bed was at the furthest point from the door but we could still hear every conversation had at the corridor & room doors being shut. The toilet was by far the worse we came across during our trip. It was small and mould & rust was everywhere, including the showerheads. For the price we paid, I think we expected a slightly higher level of maintenance being given to the toilet. Also, the hotel could try to look into incorporating a more sustainable way of providing drinking water to its guests e.g. leaving glass bottles in rooms and having water dispensers around the property for people to refill their bottles for use.

WiFi is not very good. More options for breakfast would help. Location is great, right near some temples.

Amazing view, average rooms.Old blankets.
Posted 14 Dec 2019 on HotelsI will start with the positive aspects of my review. I had stayed river front view with balcony and the view is breathtaking. The room I had stayed was 1204, directly below of Presidential Suite 1 and 2. Tourists in Bagan are usually tempted by sunrise tour but if you book the room for full moon or fuller moon nights, please don't do sunrise tour. The moon will set directly across the river which gives you spectacular moon reflection on the famous Irrawaddy river which you can enjoy by simply waking up by 5am and not going out for sunrise sightseeing. I can assure you, you will be amazed the serenity of moon before it setting over the mountains, the other side of the river. The hotel has two authentic, well maintained old pagodas inside the compound which are located next to the breakfast area. Basically you are having breakfast next to ancient pagodas, right in front of the river which is mesmerising.
Now here comes the bad...
Towels are well past the used by date. The blankets and sheets are yellowish. Bathtub and toilet need to be renewed. Breakfast is below average with not much choices.
My verdict,
I'd use the hotel again just for the spectacular of the site but I wish management upgrade the amenities.
