Great location, easy walk to most places.
Hotel was in process of renovation, made things interesting.
Big rooms, old world charm.
Terrific staff, couldn't do enough for us.

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your kind compliments and hopefully on your next return,
Renovations will be completed, and therefore will be able to accommodate all we lack in to gain your favouritism.
Looking forward to see you when you visit next with your group.
Many thanks,

Centre of Nuku'alofa, with views of the Royal Tombs. Hotel is very quiet, and needs a few repairs, basic restaurant but plenty of eating places nearby, recommend Marco's Pizza (BYO) in Unga Street, Friends Restaurant, Café Post (for coffee and lunch) and the Billfish Bar. Tonga is closed on Sundays.

Overpriced
Posted 17 Oct 2015 on HotelsThe hotel is in great need of renovation. Room itself was ok, but otherwise a disappointment considering the price

Pros: Breakfast was large, location is good, staff friendly, air con worked great, balcony good
Cons: Expensive, tired furnishings, toilet didn't flush properly, hot water intermittent, no chairs on balcony
Location: Tranquil, Close to everything, Great for exploring town
Facilities: Tired, Old, Unmaintained; Value: Excessive, Rip-off; Service: Basic, Sufficient, Polite; Cleanliness: Tidy but everything tired;
No signage outside for location. Appears on openstreetmaps and taxis know where it is, pronounced with last "e" emphasised, like "Loo-mar-lay"

Friendly staff but not close to a swimming beach.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Hotel needs refurbishing
Location: Very central location. Markets, restaurants and churches nearby.
The hotel itself is in a fairly rundown condition. However, the staff are very friendly and the continental breakfasts are good. There are no cooking facilities in the rooms as we expected. As it turned out, it didn't really matter. The wifi connection in our room was not very good. The hotel is in a very central location in the town. Even though the water was within walking distance of the hotel, it was not a nice area to swim.

Pros: Definitely the staff
Cons: Currently a building site as undergoing a major rennovation. Very noisy & dusty - ok if you're up early & out all day- no good for an afternoon nap!
Facilities: Building site!; Value: Average price, Reasonable; Service: Excellent service;
It will be lovely when it's finished!
