After I made the booking via Expedia, I got a welcome email from the hotel in French but the dates of my stay they mentioned where wrong (July 2019). I contacted them to rectify the dates and number of but they did not answer. I asked a colleague from the conference to check with the hotel and after I sent 2 email, the replied.
Secondly, I asked for a low pilow and an electric but I never go them. I aked one of the receptionists to give me a ride to the airport like other guests but she refused telling me that they do not have trips to the airport although there was plent of time in-between the trips they were having.
Thridly, the restaurant staff were very good. They offered me free Mauritanian tea. But when I ordered lunch upon my arrival they were very slow. They took a lot of time to prepare and bring me the food. Despite that, the food was delicious.

Reserved the room, and the room was given to someone else. The hotel did not want to accommodate me to the same room told me that it was too difficult to kick someone out in the room that I’ve already paid for it.

I was given a room that hadn't been cleaned yet, so I had to change rooms. The hotel is nice, clean, good breakfast and in a good location. A very nice Paul restaurant is a mere 100 meters from the hotel. What I did not like was my bed. The mattress was very poor and needed to be replaced.

Overall, this hotel is a good stay based off of other options in Nouakchott.
The staff at NKC Hotel is lovely and helpful. The breakfast is nice and I found out you can order omelets as well. It seemed initially as if they provided bottled water as we had new water every day the housekeeping came. On the one day we didn’t request housekeeping, I was charged for the bottled water I requested.
The showers are not well constructed. The first shower had stale smelly water come up from the drain when you stepped into the shower. I told the front desk and they immediately gave us a second room. This room had the exact same problem including leaking around the shower. On a previous visit I had noted the showers were poorly installed.
An airport shuttle is available, but the hotel was not responsive to email or messages through Expedia. I had to make an international call to the front desk to try to confirm the shuttle. She wasn’t able to easily find my reservations. Thankfully after we hung up she found it and sent a shuttle to the airport. The driver met us with a sign outside the airport.

nice hotel with pool and airport shuttle service

We were not aware that hotels.com reservations are treated as expedia; so they finally gave us a room and afterward found our reservation. Details concerning whether we could have an extended stay and a free airport shuttle were not clear early on but in the end they extended our stay AND got us to the airport [miles away!!] for free, so we were very happy. Breakfast buffet good. [ask for an omelette, no brewed coffee] hotel restaurant good but slow. pool small but nice; little used. good but not great location. free parking in front.

Pleasant and welcoming stay
Posted 31 Jan 2022 on HotelsIt was a very welcoming stay, staff are welcoming at all levels, reception, Restaurant, cafe, and Housekeeping even the shuttle, the room was always well taken care of, clean and fresh. Food selection for Breakfast was rich and mixed with local food, a bit of continental mix and fresh juices etc... if I am to return back, i will choose to stay there again.
