I loved this place. It's a rustic cottage with all the amenities. It was near the university so it was easy to go back and forth. It was clean and cozy, tucked away in the foliage. The host and hostess were very accommodating and responsive. I hope to stay here again next year.

cottage was roomy and very clean. Terrible dirt road to get there. However, it was very peaceful and the owners were very helpful. Somewhat lacking in the silverware area. Furniture was comfortable and sheets were very soft.

Adirondack style cabins and lodge.
Posted 31 Dec 2015
Pros: It has an old Vermont lodge style about it.
Cons: They need a better check list to be ready for guests before they arrive. I am going to bring a snow shovel next time, Vermonters don't shovel walks.
Location: Northfield is a small town, not too many restaurants but there is a Tops and a good pizza place, Some great brew pubs near Warren and Waitsfield.
The rooms we had were within the main lodge. They also had separate stand alone cabins for rent as well. We loved that our place had two bedrooms and its own kitchen and living/dining area. It was a little odd that no one was there to greet us when we arrived and we had to just find our rooms but everything was well labeled and easy to find. The heating was a little strange and we woke up both nights cold because the thermostat was set for 58 degrees. It was fine when we arrived so it must have been set to drop at a certain time. We were able to adjust it to make it warmer but it was a bit of a pain to be woken up feeling that cold. The kitchen has some plates, pans, cutlery, etc. but they also have a main kitchen in the lodge that you can borrow from. Unfortunately the dining room wasn't open the nights we were there but we made some great dinners and hung out as a family, which was the point of our trip. Overall, we would go there again, but maybe bring extra blankets or reset the thermostat before we went to sleep.

Rustic charm in the woods
Posted 23 Sep 2015 on HotelsThis is a rustic lodge so don't go if you are expecting luxury. They have spacious accommodations in the wooded quiet. We didn't interact with staff (one of the owners briefly) and didn't need anything from them.
