Norrtälje is located about 40 miles from Stockholm and Uppsala. As part of the Roslagen coastal area, this city makes for an easy point of departure to reach the archipelago, where the Norrtälje River empties into the Sea of Åland. At the Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum, you can step straight into the untouched engine factory and get a glimpse of the machinery, office space and labourers’ homes of yesteryear. This family-friendly museum also features the Kids Pythagoras where children can spend time playing and learning. Families will also enjoy a visit to Storholmen Viking village, immediately north of the city.
Located between Stockholm and Uppsala, the city is served by numerous buses and trains every day. Proximity to Stockholm means it is easy to get here by flying to Arlanda, Skavsta or Bromma airports, and then continuing on to Norrtälje. If travelling in Sweden by car, you can take E18, or national highway 76 and county road 276.
