The atmospheric town of Norre Nebel offers you a good selection of shops, and the fantastic sandy beaches of the west coast, impressive sand dunes and memorable attractions such as museums and a Viking harbour are just a stone’s throw away.
The Norre Nebel station and the church were the two focal points of the town in the past, but Norre Nebel is now best known as a holiday destination because of the nearby holiday home areas, beaches and the holiday centre SeaWest. Here you can whiz down slides at the water park, play bowling and minigolf, and let your kids 'run wild' in the huge indoor Funnyland play area.
If you want to know more about the history of the area whilst on holiday in Norre Nebel, you should visit the Norre Nebel Church, and the Nymindegab Museum in the neighbouring town, where they have a skeleton of a giant sperm whale and an open-air museum with fun activities for children. Continue your sightseeing with a full day at Bork Viking Harbour, which annually holds a Viking market and battle days with exciting re-enactments.
Whilst visiting Norre Nebel, you also have the opportunity to take a trip on a railbike along the old railway track that runs all the way from Norre Nebel to Nymindegab. The bike can carry up to three people at a time, and this of course makes for a perfect picnic opportunity. Pack one in advance so you can stop and have a snack in the beautiful surroundings whilst on your journey.
And don’t miss out on an excursion to the Blaabjerg Dune Plantation where you, having walked up the highest hill, Blaabjerg, will be rewarded with phenomenal views over the west coast.
It is best to visit Norre Nebel in the summer when most sights are open, and the sea is warm enough for you to swim in all day long. You can of course drive here by car Norre Nebel is located 40 miles west of Billund Airport, and 25 miles north-north-west of the tiny Esbjerg Airport. To use public transport, the simplest is to take the train from Esbjerg. If you fly to Billund Airport, bus 44 can take you to Esbjerg in one hour and 20 minutes, about once per hour.
Oh, and let’s not forget that Norre Nebel is just an hour away by car from Jutland’s wildest theme park:Legoland.
