You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."

"I really enjoyed my stay at Yufuin Yamaboshi. I arrived a couple hours before check-in time but was able to leave my luggage at the lobby so I could explore the area. My luggage was sent to my room when i returned. The room was very big and spacious and I enjoyed the experience of a tatami room. The view from my window was also gorgeous. There is a washroom in the room, but no shower/bath. The baths/shower/onsens are located in a small building outside of the main block and are separated by gender. I really enjoyed taking baths in the onsen, especially as there was both an indoor and outdoor bath area. The couple running the place are also very hospitable. Overall I really recommend this place if you're staying the night in Yufuin."
