The apartment and its amenities met all my expectations, except for the internet service, which was lousy. There is a Norfolk Telecom wi-fi hotspot on the property, however its line-of-site service does not extend to all the apartments. There was no service at all to my apartment and I was forced to go outside and sit in the BBQ area to get any reception. Even then the service was unacceptably slow, although this is likely outside the control of Hibiscus Crown itself.
Suggest that those for whom an internet service is important get clarification on signal strength and speed before confirming a booking.

A Older Hotel BUT Nicely Renovated with Everything
Posted 15 Jan 2018 on Wotif
Pros: Modern renovation. Value. Quiet. Clean. Friendly staff. Hire car connection. Spaciousness.
Cons: A pool perhaps? TV reception?
Location: Norfolk was lovely! We discovered by it size (5 X 8 kms!) that it is so easy to get around and check out the history & walks and scenery. Relax!
We loved our stay at Crown Hibiscus just out of town (Burnt Pine). It was a 10 minute walk into town but everybody has and needs a rental car on Norfolk but this too was seamlessly organised for us. Nothing was a problem for the very friendly staff. Our unit was nicely furnished with modern amenities which we did not expect. Even a picnic back pack was supplied as there are MANY delightful BBQ & picnic settings all around the lovely island and in the knowledge that there are only supplies/shops in town except the fast foods caravan on the beach at Kingston. Take a picnic or BBQ to Puppies Point to watch to sun go down or a swim at Emily Bay or for a few waves, walk down to Anson Bay which despite warnings from the locals, I found it safe.
We quietly looked around other hotels and again found Crown had nice spacious grounds and gardens - unlike many others on town. Most hotels are older builds, even those with more prestigious names...Whilst there are no views which all in town would not have, perhaps glimpses only, Crown was relaxed and very quiet. Frankly it you want views, you will need to book those out of town. Apparently A/C is not available on the island due to diesel power generation, we were surprised the daily temperature (mid January!) was around 25 degrees so A/C was not required but a fan was supplied, which we did not use anyway. No it was not perfect but came close and at an excellent rate. Be prepared for ordinary TV reception so far away from Aus.

First Timer to Norfolk
Posted 17 Apr 2017 on HotelsPlace was okay. A few unwelcome guests (cockroaches) as place had been sprayed recently. Staff were friendly. Departure Lounge needs a good clean. Fairly handy to town.

Real hospitality..idyllic
Posted 27 Dec 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Just peaceful...no bar or restaurant but no noise....
Cons: All good
Location: It's Norfolk Island...walk, beaches, views, eating, shopping, more walks, amazing flora...
Welcoming...complimentary mobile phone to use anywhere on the island, picnic basket and rug, unexpected island tour thrown in..you need a car but that goes for any hotel on the island as key beaches etc are all a short drive away ....loved the real king bed also...
