"I booked this break for my wife's big birthday. We stayed for 2 nights on B&B basis. The hotel looked very festive when we arrived as all the Christmas trees had been put up and decorated. The reception area looked lovely. We had a quick, smooth check-in and were advised of opening times for dining and the spa facility. "Our room was clean and tidy on arrival, few paint chips noticed around the room, especially in bathroom and on bathroom door, these are easily fixed and should be done prior to any guests arrival. More pillows should be available if needed, as my partner felt two were not sufficient to accommodate her sleep. TV in room had infrequent digital reception and the remote control does not allow full access to all of the TV, the TV itself is also very dated and does not have internet access...

"Great location for exploring the city centre with easy access by frequent buses that go into the city. Bus stop is only 2/3 minutes walk from the hotel. Really good sleep as it's quiet and comfortable. Parking at the hotel is easy. "

"Good value but be aware that Arch rooms are a walk away from the main building and more like just rooms though there are lounge areas. "
