No frills but decent and clean

Posted 9 May 2017
Decent, clean place. No frills but served the purpose of a place to stay in Nizwa. Convenient location to the Friday market. Hungry Bunny next door was convenient to grab a bite. Breakfast buffet was nothing exciting.

Just for one night

Hotel is really so so. Broken bed, no elevator, terrible smell in the bathroom. Breakfast is almost nothing.

off mountain biking

Posted 17 Apr 2016
Pros: Clean, simple quiet.
Cons: Breakfast could be a little more interesting
Location: The Fort Nizwa and Souq
When I arrived the guys .on reception - Indian - were glued to the IPL on their computer. so we all had a good watch of that, a good start as a cricket loving Englishman. the rooms are large, clean, simple. The bathroom had all the little touches you need, shampoo and such. Fridge as well with water in, very necessary. I was using it as a base to head up into the mountains and it was perfect. Nice and quiet. And on my checkout day, they let me back in the room late morning AFTER I had been out in order to change and shower.

Friendly, comfortable hotel with excellent food

Posted 7 Apr 2016
Situated on the outskirts of Nizwa, on the edge of the charming village of Firq. Very comfortable, with touches like bed side table with lamps not usually found in other Omani budget hotels. Good variety at breakfast buffet and very tasty, but cheap food, at other times. Lovely, helpful staff, who perfume the corridors with frankincense every morning.

OK for one night, prices also OK

Not much to say: We booked the hotel because it was cheap and pretty close to Nizwa Souq and other attractions. It offers good value for the money. However everything in there is a bit odd (smell in the hallways, furniture...). Rooms are clean. Only thing: the breakfast isn't good at all but considering the low prices we can't complain!

Basic but clean and affordable

Posted 30 Mar 2016
Majan Guesthouse is a bit remote from city center, but if you have a car like we did, it's only 5 minutes driving so it ain't a problem. Room was large and clean, bed is not super comfortable, but everything else was fine. Staff was very helpful and were quick to provide hair dryer because there wasn't one in the room. Breakfast is also basic, but quite ok considering the price. Overall it's not a 5-star, but would return again.
