Located as it is on theconfluence of the Rivers Usk and Severn, Newportcity is truly a product of both its history and its geography. A port sincemedieval times, it has a rich history of industrial and strategic relevance, and its proud heritage can be enjoyed today with sights such as the NewportTransporter Bridge, Newport Castle, NewportCathedral and TredegarHouse. And yet for all this history of industry, Newport also lies at the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are both right on the doorstep, whilst the Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away.

The Vale of Usk attractsfishermen from every corner of the country (and beyond) for its fantasticsalmon fishing and there are many other great spots nearby to cast yourline.

"This is a wonderful manor hotel in the Welsh countryside. The staff were wonderful and so was the food. The room was spacious and well appointed. The only draw back is there is no lift so you will have to carry your luggage up stairs."

Excellent, clean, friendly and relaxing
"Check in was friendly and professional. Cleanliness was excellent and comfort in room was fantastic. Complementary spa use was a nice extra as well. One comment on the spa was the steam room and sauna weren't particularly hot. Perhaps just personal preference. Also the liner on the spa pool has come ..."

Pleasent enough stay.
"Lovely tidy property, had all the mods and cons needed but the walls were a little thin and we could hear our nextdoor neighbours, And they could probably hear us. The hot tub was a selling point for us but unfortunately it wasn’t the cleanest and couldn’t use it for long. (2 evenings max). Also, ..."

Weekend bus trip
"A very different experience, a shame it was November so the weather wasn't great, but still a great experience. Would definately recommend flip flops for the bus stop showers, as that floor was a tad painful. And a shame the shower with a view had suffered in the last freeze, would be great in summer. ..."
