Cozy boutique rooms
Posted 2 May 2024 on HotelsThe hotel is actually a few cozy rooms above a pub. The rooms are spacious enough. I have also stayed at the Lodge in Newbury and the Dolphin was miles nicer. I was worried about noise facing the street, but it was very quiet. I never heard any noise from the pub. The staff were very nice and accommodating. This felt more like staying at a friend’s house. The staff are only there during limited hours, so if you are coming and going early and late you may find it inconvenient to get towels or other items refreshed. No after hours check in. You will have a key to access the building after hours.

Great little pub to stay over

Set really close to town Centre, a characterful lovely pub.
No hassle sign in. Room clean and always some bottled water.
Smallest grumble was the lack choice of Jam for breakfast
Will definitely stay again

Very small room and super hot... Stairs only. Window looked out on other windows so have to be careful for privacy. Great staff and breakfast!
