They told forever to give us our rooms. They kept wanting to charge us more if we wanted a room that is available earlier. So we decided to wait in the lobby and after 8 hours of waiting, I went up and checked and they said oh sure I’ll give you the rooms. They were support to call us when the room is ready and they never did. They will make you wait on purpose so you pay more for whatever upgrade. It’s a scam

We were upgraded to a corner room with amazing views of both the Hudson River and to the right was Times Square. Only issue is the daily resort fee charge and the fan in the bathroom was not working.

The location of the hotel is 5 STAR - however, it's past its prime as a luxury hotel. The front desk was worn and chipped, the carpet in my room stained and tile floors in bathroom chipped. The decor is dated as well. There was no coffee available in the room or lobby, which seems pretty basic to offer at a hotel at this price. The personnel were nice and helpful but overall a very average experience.

Spent a few days during Christmas here at the W New York and we had the most perfect trip. From the doormen to the front desk all the way to the cleaning staff. The maids paid extra attention to detail and gave us wine glasses when they knew we had a bottle in the room. Nice touch! Beds were comfy too. Great experience!

The hotel is centrally located to the theater district. However, our room was small and poorly lit. The room faced out on another building across the street which was under construction. There was hammering and drilling through the night until after 1 A.M. We called down to ask to change the room and were told that was not possible. The front desk sent up ear plugs which did not help stifle the noise. The hotel appears to have been built with not sound-proofing. The next morning we again asked to change the room and were told it was not possible. If you plan on visiting NYC during the week, I would suggest another hotel if you wish to have a good night sleep.

The staff at W Times Square were spectacular. Super friendly and accommodating. They always had great suggestions. As you walk up to the front, you are greeted and the door is already opening. They couldn’t do enough to make you feel comfortable. We stayed in a suite for my daughter’s birthday. It’s an annual trip and this was the first time at the W. We are going to book again for next year. Some of the furniture showed a little wear and tear but the room was immaculate and staff always did a great job.
