Good area to walk in and close to public transport. 3 flights of stairs and no elevator, you get what you pay for. Mould in showers, weird smell from AC in room, not given hand soap or hand towels.

ideal for solo travelers

Up the street from penn station ideal for time square and shops , basic no pots or pans just one problem take care entering the bathroom the pipe going floor to ceiling is hot burnt my arm on it it feeds the radiators room 4 . Thanks Harry for a worm friendly welcome hope to see you again

No blanket. The temperature outside dropped to 55 that night. There was no heat in the room. The only bath towel was on the floor. There was food from previous person in the refrigerator and freezer. It seemed possible to me that the bed linens were dirty.

Why did they get such good reviews?

I booked this because the price was reasonable and it was close to the High Line Park, which is right down the street. When I went to pay, a cleaning fee of $50 was slapped on, a rude surprise--but right in line with a lot I learned on site. It had gotten great reviews on Hotels.com, but I am convinced they were written by the owner. The room was SPARTAN--why have a stove when all else that is supplied are: paper plates, one spoon, a dirty pot with no implements for cleaning, no dish towel, no paper towel. I did get a bath towel, which still had tags on it--but no soap, washcloth etc. They should have a note that says 'Bring your own everything.' The topper was finding a drawer full of someone else's clothes. The bed had clean sheets, but no blankets. Some of the furniture was new, but poorly assembled. It WAS clean. The shared bathroom was tiny, but an overweight person would have had difficulty fitting in, ditto the shower. I just had the feeling they weren't quite ready to be open, I did think it had potential--good location, and they tried to contact me to see when I would be checking in, but I wasn't able to get to my email for several days. My reception wasn't very friendly, but I now know they didn't know exactly when I was coming. I feel the $50 cleaning fee was very over the top when the room was so bare, there was nothing to get dirty...In summary, convenient to High Line, but they need to drop their prices or step up their game.

The staff communicated with us at all times, they were friendly and always willing to help. The property is secure and the room comfortable and clean. The location is excellent a few blocks from the train station. It is a good option to stay at an economical price.

Super Lage, einige Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar: Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, High Line, Edge... Fußweg zur U-Bahn: 2 Blocks Leider war die Unterkunft SUPER DRECKIG! Am Boden lagen Haare vom Vorgänger. Es wurde auf jeden Fall der Boden schon länger nicht mehr gewischt. Wir haben den Boden selbst gereinigt. Die Küche war nur oberflächlich gereinigt, am Kühlschrank und an den Wänden waren Fettspritzer. Aus einem der Küchenschränke fiel eine lebendige Kakerlake. Der Boden in der Dusche ist vergilbt und die Wände sind fleckig. Wir haben das selbst gereinigt. Der Service war zwar erreichbar, aber hat einen nur vertröstet. Bei Problemen kann man keine Hilfe erwarten. Wir hatten uns eine extra Decke gewünscht und nur eine super dünne Decke erhalten, also keine zweite, sondern nur die dünne Decke. Es werden Kochutensilien versprochen, aber nicht gestellt. Man erhält Pappschüsseln und Plastikbesteck (Löffel, Gabeln, Messer). 1 Topf und 1 Pfanne, aber ohne Besteck dafür. Die Heizung war bei Ankunft viel zu warm. Wir haben erst später herausgefunden, dass sie nicht stufenweise einstellbar ist, sondern nur heiß oder aus kann. Wenn man sie aus Versehen aus schaltet, braucht sie 2 Tage, bis sie wieder heizt. Außerdem führt ein Heizungsrohr durch den Türrahmen zum Bad, an dem wir uns mehrfach verbrannt haben. Das Bett ist total durchgelegen. Wenn man zu zweit dort schläft, fallen beide zur Mitte hin. Außerdem ist es auf Rollen.
