Hi Taylor, Thanks for the nice review. It was certainly nice to be called incredible. My 9th grade math teacher (and football coach) once mumbled something to me about being "incredible", but I don't think he meant it in a complementary way! Well...I have him now Taylor, just wait till I show him your wonderful review....now if I can just find that guy. Anyway, we are thrilled that ya'll had a good time at the Olivier House and that you enjoyed our three cats. They are so popular with the guest, it is hard to believe that they were feral when they first got here....the cats I mean, not the guest. It was a pleasure for us to have ya'll with us for a few days and hope to see you again sometime, Jim

Hi Jerry, Glad you enjoyed the Olivier House and that you got to meet the cats. You may have seen the plaque stating that Ragie, one of the cats, has again won "Employee of the Month". I don't really mind it that he keeps beating me out, but it does get my goat to have to park my car way in the back while he flaunts his "Employee of the Month" parking spot. Oh well, maybe next month. It was great to have ya'll spend a few days with us. Thanks, Jim

Hey Sara, Thanks for the nice comments about the Olivier House. Interesting to hear you say it has a homey feel. With the elegant trim, moldings and architectural elements, we could have gone with a stuffy atmosphere, but after 53 years of being run by our family, we have learned that most people don't want stuffy on their holiday. Besides, our family is not stuffy anyway nor is anyone on the staff, so we enjoy going to work and interacting with guest as if we all know each other. We think it just makes for a more fun atmosphere. I suppose your nice review just proves it. Thanks for writing it and for spending some time with us, Jim

Hi Kyle, Good tip on your review about experiencing a true historic New Orleans experience. There are plenty of hotels for a mass tourism, but the Olivier House is not one of them. Someone once said that if you are not willing to seek out the unusual, you will have to settle for just ordinary. We believe that just ordinary is not much to aspire to, especially for one's holiday. Glad you feel the same. I know I am bragging on us, but hey, somebody has to do it.....oh wait, I just realized that you had already bragged for us...oh well, since I already started... We believe that no hotel can be a great hotel without a truly nice staff, so we're glad you found them to be so. All right. Now we are done bragging....bless our little hearts. Please feel free to brag on us anytime you like, trust me, we won't mind! Most humbly, Jim

Hi Julie, I see you are a woman of few words, but the ones you choose to use were spot on. Beauty comes in many forms, but I think that we would agree with you that the Olivier House and many of the classic old buildings of the French Quarter are very unique in their architecture and style. As travelers ourselves, we love to stay in places that authentically look and feel like the area that it is in. We're glad that you do too. Thanks for staying with us, Jim

Beautiful, old, unique. The staff were very helpful. Ask for expresso!

Hey Lorrie, Nice to hear you found the building to be beautiful and the staff to be helpful. Those two things along with having a good location a pretty much the trifecta of a good hotel. At least, we like to think so. As for the expresso....good tip! As you know, we do also always keep regular coffee ready at all times in multiple dispensers, because we believe it is inhumane to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some sort of recreational activity! Thanks for your nice review, Jim
