Dirty towels and dirty bedsheets with holes. Mattresses are shot. Pillows need to be thrown away too. Pool is listed as an amenity but hasn't been open for a long time. They did not have a record of my reservation. No one at the front desk when I tried to check in. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to appear. Was beginning to wonder if they were open for business.
Pool was not usable, Staff out walking the dog for 20 minutes, had to wait til they got back. Reservation was not in system. The young man that helped us was nice. This is a hotel that is used to house rougnecks from the oil companies. The folks are nice folks but a family environment.
The primary folks in this residence are oil workers. The workers are good folks but when the sign reads no dirty shoes, you get the point. We arrived to a phone that read "for service pick up the phone". I picked up the phone and a phone wrang 3 ft away. Thinking it was a coincidence I did it again, same result. When the only employee returned from walking the dog, he looked us up and no reservation. We stayed elsewhere. The employee was nice but the accommodations were not as perceived on the site.
Nothing was working. The pool was closed the hot tub was closed the washer and dryer were broken the ice machine was broken. The condition of the property was very run down. The staff was very professional but there’s nothing they could do about the fact that nothing was in order I suspect because the owner wouldn’t address the problems
The room was dusty and bathtub dirty as well. Stains on ceiling from water leak and paint peeling off the wall around the door. No cover was over ac/heater unit. When checking in the guy could not find my reservations because i booked online amd he did not know how to access that.

I was shocked! No heat in the lobby it was freezing!!! So was the weight room and the broken pool! Then there was nobody at the motel to check us in. I had to call the motel so they could send the manager in to check us in!! So I waited in the warm car. She pulled up behind and didnt say a word. The room was dated and needed some attention!

It’s a place to lay your head
The bell to call someone to the desk didn’t work. I read this as an issue before. Just call the phone number.
Even though we had made reservations in advance, no one had turned on the heat in our room and it was freezing, literally not figuratively. Though it did warm up nicely.
Pillows are pancakes and blankets are thin. Pool, hot tub, washers, dryers, all out of order (COVID related?)
I’m not saying I wouldn’t stay again rather than drive 45 minutes, if Ness City is where I needed to be, just that my expectations were set too high.

The front desk lady was very very nice, especially checking in at 1:30am. My first room was down stairs. After getting situated, I heated up cold pizza and at that time noticed a movement behind dresser! So I hurried and snapped a picture, well low and behold it was a cockroach, I am a truck driver out of time and can't drive to the next town. She offered to put me up stairs, explained with the pools and humidity it could be the reason! This room is much better, the lighting is terrible though had to use my phone to check everything, to the eye it's all clean. But i think I will have the creepy crawlies all night! Hope I get good sleep!

It was impossible to get someone to come to the front desk I waited 30 minutes for someone to come up front there wasn't any cars weren't busy it's very very dirty the front desk and front door look like it hadn't been cleaned in months the girl that did come to the front desk was very pleasant very nice but that was the only good thing about the whole situation I know they're the only Hotel there but they should at least have pride in their hotel and keep it clean and it was really hot when you walk in there the whole lobby with hot and there's no AC going at all their plants were all dead the pool was closed and dirty
It’s was nice and pleasant. Enjoyed the stay for the simplicity of the area.

Derrick Inn
The Derrick Inn has real, possibilities, but the rooms fall short. Our room was clean, but one bed was broken somehow and leaned. The pillows were shabby and torn. The peoplenext to us had no
showers.
Holes in walls, the cleanliness is was extremely low. The king suite was like walking back into the 1970's with all kinds of repair needed. It seems the shoe string budget is causing the place to go down hill
The pool was open but it was freezing cold & there was a lot of sand on the bottom so doubt it was cleaned very often. Hot tub was bubbling but it was freezing cold as well. Room was clean-ish. They did come in every day & vacuum & replace the towels but don't expect the beds to be made or anything beyond the basics. Had to go down & get them to come out & bring me toilet paper. There is almost never anyone at the front desk so you have to call a number & they answer & you wait for them to come out. We found unopened food in the drawer from the last occupant & the furniture is falling apart. I would stay there again but only because it is the only hotel within an hour of where my family lives. Otherwise I would go somewhere else.
