Loved this historic hotel within walking distance to the park. Breakfast in the morning was the best we've had in Japan. Really loved the pajamas left in your room to use. You will love your stay here.

Stately building set in a park area, with deer roaming all around. Great breakfast in a beautiful dining room with attentive staff. Shuttle buses to the train stations. Highly recommend!

FIVE STAR SERVICE THROUGH AND THROUGH!! By far my best service at any hotel I’ve been at. It started with our reservation and I advised the hotel it was my son’s birthday. They had tons of suggestions for things for us to do and he was THRILLED with everything. From the shuttle service driver who was sweet, smiling and took care of all our luggage without a second thought, to being greeted by staff or when they ran down the driveway with umbrellas when we got caught in the rain to the delicious breakfast and dinner, this was an absolute joy to stay here. The location is perfect and we got to see baby and mama deer roaming the property. If you go to Nara, or honestly anywhere near here, and you don’t stay here, you will be missing out!!!

Beautiful hotel, surrounded by greenery, next to a beautiful garden and, a walking distance from the Nara Park. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Overall an outstanding hotel.

This is a remarkable historical property. The view from our room was outstanding. The cherry blossoms outside the tea room/bar were breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay. The food in all three restaurants was great.
Keep in mind this hotel’s design is not the current grey and white chic. The style is from another era and that is what is so lovely about it.
