WARNING for anyone looking to stay here. Get travelers insurance. I NEVER leave reviews but felt the need to make sure anyone who considered staying here aware. We booked this place for our 10th anniversary trip. We flew into Boston from Memphis, took the bus down to Hyannis to catch the ferry across only to find out that the rest of the ferries for the day were cancelled due to weather. I called the hotel to let them know that we wouldn’t be able to make it and would need to cancel at least the first night. I was told that we would be responsible for the stay. I had to clarify this with the hotel. So, you’re telling me on a 3 night stay, if the 6:30AM ferry runs on the day of my arrival and every ferry until the end of my trip is cancelled, i am on the hook for the entire stay? I was continually told yes, that is the policy, and the policy is applied evenly and fairly. Just because a policy applies evenly doesn’t make it fair. We did everything feasibly possible to make it and were not able to make it to the island due to conditions completely out of our control. As if the disappointment of having to cancel our Nantucket trip wasn’t enough, i had to eat the entire cost of the stay, which was not cheap to begin with. They continually fall back on “you should have gotten travelers insurance.” I’m here to tell you that you should do that if you plan to stay here. It feels like extortion but please know these people will not be decent human beings if it comes down to it.

Best night sleep I had all week! As pilots my husband and I are on the road a lot. The Carlisle Inn on Nantucket was a very pleasant place to stay, super quiet, clean and comfy. Staff were very pleasant during check in and out. We hope to get the opportunity to stay here in the future!

Was our 1 year anniversary and our first trip to Nantucket together. The Inn was an easy 5 minute walk from the ferry and with bike rental we were set for the weekend! Out King room on the 2nd floor was lovely and spacious and had a charming street view. PROS: large room with sitting area; tastefully decorated common areas and the garden was recently redone; WONDERFUL continental breakfast on day one with the best berries and lox! (No lox or tomato for bagels on the second day tho); secure area to park bikes. CONS: odd bathroom configuration with step up into the doorway- cut my head open lol; window AC has BRIGHT LIGHT on control- it felt like I was looking at headlights of oncoming cars all night; Slightly unnerving that the front door of the end was left open all night; The end Keepers seem to be having an altercation with someone that lived in the property that had not registered other guest, that was happening right in the reception room by the front door and made me a little uncomfortable; I think lots of people drink iced coffee for breakfast, so it would have been nice if glassware was provided. Sadly, even tho i discussed my anniversary with the owner when I called to discuss my room and late check-in, no one made an effort to wish us a happy anniversary, no card or even greeting, saying happy anniversary when we arrived. It would’ve been nice if someone made our day feel special by saying some thing at least.

We had such a beautiful time here. My partner was a little too tall for the room, but the California Queen was a delight. Wonderful linens, beach bag and towel included, and so close to so many awesome experiences including the WHALING MUSEUM which is well worth the visit. A local tour guide knew exactly where we were staying and picked us up right outside the inn. He even brought a list of owner history. Short and lovely walks to historic sites, Shellfish Hatchery, the ferry, and of course shops and restaurants. I did have a little incident one night which got me to the hospital, but all the employees were understanding and accommodating. I loved the continental breakfasts. A healthy and relaxing start to the day. Fellow guests were lovely, we had a couple excellent chats over s’mores at the fire pit. Did some beespotting by the hydrangeas and enjoyed the birds as well. The stairs were steep up to the third floor, so we were very grateful for the outdoor ramp with a gorgeous courtyard view. We kept the windows open our entire stay. After long days trekking around we returned to ice cold cucumber and citrus waters in the lobby. Nantucket was out of our budget, but so worth the investment. I had so much fun chatting with local shopkeepers, visitor services, and historic society members who all love this little paradise so dearly. Whaling Museum will be changing up their exhibits in 2027 so expect us next time!

I have stayed at a lot of Nantucket Inns and hotels, and this is one is now one of my favorites. Freshly decorated and clean, a really nice breakfast buffet included, with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Nice touches like fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Location is very walkable to town shopping while still on a quiet side street. Note that stairs to second floor are steep and narrow.

The property is great. The inn keeper is really nice and will try to personalize your stay. The room Is exactly as advertised. We stayed in the Cisco room. We were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower are small, but this is a historic property from the 1700s so you should expect that. It’s a charming b&b and I would return. The staff and owner really care about your experience and it shows.
