Terrible experience
Posted 7 Oct 2019 on HotelsWe had a terrible overall stay at two different properties that the owner Lilian owned for 2 different nights. The first night was ok - we had complained about the bed being hard but overall it was what you pay for - after all it is guest house and not a hilton.
So for the second night, she booked us in another room but this was full of mosquitoes and really dirty with the shower not working properly. Plus the second bathroom had a sink right in front of the toilet so I am not sure how one could use the sink since there was no space - really dumb. But then the next morning when we complained, the lady completely lost it. She locked the door from inside so we could not get out and threatened to call the police the on us saying that we will be in a nairobi jail for 6 months until the case is closed. We finally apologized and she let us go but I would not stay at this property even if she was offering it for free. I would normally just have given an meets expectations review based on price but due to the ladies treatment and the most harrowing experience we had , I felt it was my duty to warn others and hence the long post. Stay at your own risk..

Thank you for your review,But clearly other travellers can see you are the problem, let me start by that you did not want to pay hence the excuses , you wanted free breakfast , you left windows open even after we told you to close.
All rooms have nets ,and every bath has a working sink.
We have never hosted such troublesome guests like you , very drunk ,very disrespectful , wanting more for less pay .
Genuine guests can read and see previous reviews from other travelers that were not troublesome like you.
You broke even a toilet seat .

I stayed at Nairobi Aiport Homestay with a friend, and we had a wonderful time. First of all, the room is quite nice and has everything you need. The homestay is pretty close to the airport, so that is a plus, though it is a bit further from some of the main attractions (these are still easy to get to via Uber). Breakfast was really solid as well. But what really stood out to me was the service. Lilian was such a lovely host, being really responsive to request prior to arrival, facilitating as much as she could, and then being a wonderfully engaging person. We had some good discussion and she helped us learn some essential Swahili as well. Really made us feel welcome and at home. So all I can say is Asante sana Lilian! Would certainly recommend to any traveler and stay there again.

Lillian the owner was helpful and a great host. This is a real deal for the money and close to the airport. We highly recommend it.
