A charming, older Hotel and Gasthof. I was looking for a small, family run place that did not have the hotel chain feel. This was perfect for what I wanted. The room was clean but a little small, not tiny though. For a fee of 12,50 Euro, the staff did our laundry, which would have been at least two full loads. Our clothes were hanging or folded in our room, waiting for us when we returned from touring. The Continental breakfast was small but tasty and satisfying. The in-house restaurant was very convenient, and our dinner was delicious. With the zero tolerance for drinking and driving in Germany, having a beer with our dinner was worry free. Did I mention how friendly and accommodating this family Staff were? Well, they were. The free parking was very nice too.

Lovely hotel
Posted 6 Jul 2019 on HotelsNice hotel run by a lovely family. My room was huge with a sofa and table and chairs. The bathroom was also huge. Very clean, restaurant on site, parking available, nice area which is very quiet at night. Just note that there is no elevator, so pack judiciously and there is no A/C, which is fairly typical in an area that rarely gets extreme heat. Have a wonderful stay and would recommend.

Pros: The food and the rooms.
Cons: The car parking.
Location: Good location, a central position on the market square that allows the visitor to explore Naila without getting too far from base.
I have stayed at the Gruener Baum (Naila) several times and never had cause for complaint, the food is good and plentiful at all meals, the beer; it goes without saying is superb, and mine host and his wife ensure that guests are well looked after.

Good for an overnight stay.
Posted 13 Aug 2012 on HotelsNaila is a great little town and this hotel makes a nice overnight stay. There was a little language barrier with the staff but it all worked out fine. The included breakfast was nice.

More charming alternative go staying in Hof.
Posted 15 Dec 2010 on HotelsDon't book this place if there is snow!
If you have a car wider than a compact, then expect to find your own parking on the street.
Internet service is iffy.
With those caveats, this is a fine little village and much nicer than the nearby Hof, which is at a major autobahn intersection. Room was quiet and comfy.
