Fine location, but....

Posted 29 Oct 2020 on Hotels
Our reservation details read 'family apartment, 1 bedroom, garden view, double bed + double sofa bed' at #16 Sokolov St, the address of Palm on the Beach. We arrived and phoned the proprietor, who was not available to meet us. He said our room was at a different address - #21 Sokolov. We went there, his daughter waited for us. The tiny room was in a garage storeroom with a cafe table in the driveway - no garden view other than a potted plant. By phone with the proprietor, we refused to take the room. He insisted it was our reservation even though the photo and description were nothing like we ordered. Finally he told the girl to take us back to #16 Sokolov. where she showed us a cabin-like room with a patio. Though it was smaller than we reserved and without a couch, we took it. The microwave didn't work, nor did the hotplate. No grab-bar to safely get into and out of the jacouzzi. Though the location is good, it was very unpleasant to be bounced around, settle for less than our confirmed reservation.

I'm sorry to see you insist it wasn't the room you had ordered... You can see the room prices, what you expected appropriate to suite price. And the price match to one unit, only the unit you ordered.

Great location and unique style

Posted 23 Apr 2018 on Hotels
Palm on the Beach is a unique and fun place to stay. It consists of rooms and cabins carved out from a larger house and in a beachy style. It is a very short two block walk to the beach and I mean to reach the actual sand on the beach, and a few more steps to the swimming area. Patrick is super helpful always reachable. When we first arrived, we found the room we had reserved was smaller than we'd like and Patrick was able to upgrade us to a large apartment in the same house for a reasonable additional charge. The new apartment has a kitchen, Jacuzzi, living room and small patio facing the yard which was great for just relaxing. I was pleased that was plenty of on street parking right in front of the entrance. BTW - the entrance is a locked gate to the small front yard. There's no reception deck like a regular hotel or daily room service; more a like an apartment rental.

Not a hotel.

Posted 20 Jan 2018
We arrived to an address that led us to a private residence in a residential area with the locked front gate. Luckily we had a friend who picked us up at the airport. We used his cell phone to call the number for the hotel in the effort to get entry. Female answered didn't speak any English. Our friend translated that she was on her way. She arrived about 25 minutes later to find us with suitcases, stroller and several little children waiting on the street by the locked gate. She opened the gate, we went inside but unfortunately couldn't roll our suitcases or the stroller as there was no paved road behind the gate. She took us around the house and opened a door into a room on the ground floor on the side of the house. We walked in, the room smelled cigarettes, the side panel by the entrance door had a huge dirty mark size of an average water melon (I took multiple pictures) I tired to communicate in English to no avail. She finally dialed her cell phone and put me through a man (Patrick) who tried to convince us to stay. We decided not to stay there as it was not a hotel, had no access for the stroller, was dirty and smelled cigarettes inside. We left and checked in in a reputable hotel "Crown Plaza" Patrick, contacted me several times requesting our passport numbers or ID's even though we never checked into his property. We are requesting a full refund for misleading information and failure to provide hotel accommodations.

very large room just a block off the beach

Posted 26 Mar 2017
Pros: the location, the space, full kitchen, Jacuzzi.
Cons: Couch for 3rd person's bed is not very large or comfortable. Also, no drawers or closets to unpack into. Just some hooks on the back of a door
Location: 1 block from the beach, and just 5-10 min walk to the main street . Great selection of restaurants, kosher and not. 15 min to Rosh HaNikra, 30 to Acco
We had a lovely stay at Palm on the beach over a weekend in March. My husband, 21 yo daughter and I shared a very large, clean room that included a jacuzzi, full kitchen and pool table! It is one block from the beach and we had a nice Shabbat evening stroll after dinner Friday night. We also found two synagogues within an easy walk. Really enjoyed Nahariya and this place. Patrick (yes, he's an Israeli!), was very helpful and accommodating to all our questions and concerns. Really funky decorating, including musical instruments and record album covers. There is a 4 seat dining table and full kitchen. And Jacuzzi was great! Two small caveats-- no dressers or closets in which to unpack. Also, no couch or easy chair if you are using the couch as a bed. (personally, I'd prefer a couple of easy chairs to the pool table.)

Nice "cabin" by the beach

Posted 9 Sep 2016
Staff is not always available. Someone was not there to check us in but the owner more than graciously tried to make it up to us. The room we stayed in was huge, had a pool table and a jacuzzi. The first room we stayed in, however, was nicely decorated but very tiny. Overall, it is a great place for being near the beach and we would stay there again. It is not really a hotel and does not have great facilities outside the actual room.
