Not a luxury motel, but serviceable. Would stay there again.

The room was very nice and clean. Decorated very nice. It is a great place to stay for a night. Pets are welcome. You dont see as any staff because you just check in and out with a code on your door. The beach is a walk across the street. There is a great! restaurant on the premises. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there with very reasonable prices. When I walked my dog the grass is long and fire ants are there. The wall air conditioner is loud. But all in all like I said great for a night then on to the rental home we got in Kill devil.

It was a normal motel room, nothing fancy. I liked the small fridge, microwave oven, and toaster oven. The service was so so. When they would come, they would forget to replenish soap, toilet role, shampoo, and coffee etc. The shower had some glue type marks, and they did not go away. The airconditioner water left a unlighly mark outside.

Given it is a Motel, they did good. I had several “must haves” and they ticked the boxes. Within Nags Head, dog friendly without conditions, near the beach, a nice pool, reasonable cost. There is a neighboring restaurant The Dunes that we used a few times but check their hours, not always open. The staff were a little intimidated by our two large dogs but still smiled and vacuumed up our mutts dog hair without complaint. So would i book Tar Heel again, yes.
