We chose to visit via Expedia for a mini vacation beginning on Christmas Day. We’ve used Expedia multiple times and have usually had good results. This time, we had lots of issues getting checked in at the property. The staff member at the desk was not very welcoming or helpful. I had reserved two king-sized oceanfront rooms. Upon arrival (with my parents) she told me that she “had moved us to a room with two double beds since there were four of us”. I tried explaining that we needed TWO rooms since that’s what I had reserved, but she continued to insist that she didn’t have two king sized rooms. We went back and forth for a while with her telling me that “I had booked through a third party and that the rooms were not guaranteed”. She finally was able to “find” a second room for my parents (with two double beds), but it was next door to us, which was helpful. At some point, she showed me the check/in roster for the day which had three names on it (mine, my father’s, and one other…) so I don’t think being overbooked was the issue. I enjoyed the remainder of our trip, but her attitude certainly dampened our checkin process.
