The room had bugs in it the ceiling had mold on it

I am sorry to hear that your visit was not perfect. We have a stringent pest control program that generally keeps unwanted critters at bay, but sometimes the palmetto bugs get through. Should you ever have this situation again, just let us know so we can get it taken care of immediately for you. We hope that you will join us again sometime soon.

I was weary of all the bad reviews of this property… They were mostly about “bugs” and bad towels in the bathrooms. I’m from the south so I’m aware of what Palmetto bugs are - recommend you don’t stay here if they’re a problem for you - it’s to be expected. The towels did suck - we brought our own from home - not an issue. The problem I had was the fact we were told we’d get a QUEEN size bed for the bedroom and it was a FULL size bed. Mind you - we recently upgraded to a king bed and had a queen for 3 years prior. I called the front desk - lady did not say her name. I asked about the bed and if we were put into the wrong room - she says “it’s a queen bed” and I assured her it was not and it was too small to even be a queen. I asked if there was another room available with a queen bed. She just sat there silently - I said hello? She said “it’s a queen bed” so I ended the call. I even took a photo and measurements of the bed because I thought maybe I was crazy, but I wasn’t. We will not be back, mostly because the front desk rep tried to gaslight me into thinking I was crazy for knowing we didn’t get the queen bed as promised in the listing. The other staff (at check in/out) were super friendly.

Beautiful area, most of the buildings were really pretty but the lodges need some paint

It was good. I forget coming to the south means bugs. We found 3 dead roaches in our room when we got there. Our room keys got turned off twice in the 4 days we were there. The office is not conveniently located for when this happens. Minimal dining options on property, which makes it hard with a toddler. We ordered a 1bdrm with a king bed. They "upgraded" us to a 2bdrm with a queen in one and twins in the other. Fine, but unnecessary.
