As soon as I entered the room, the oder was pungent! So I opened the window to air the room out. Mind you it is October so not warm. So I turned on the heating unit and that smelled like someone urinated in the register. So I left and went to Meijer to purchase gloves, Lysol wipes, candles and room spray to return and clean the entire room just to make it tolerable to sleep. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly so I reported that to the front desk and asked for towels and shampoo and conditioner refill the man at the front desk said he would try to get some one to get to the toilet. And that housekeeper would take care of towels and things when she cleans the room. So when I reached at the end of the day. The room wasn’t cleaned and the toilet wasn’t repaired. I went to the front desk asked why my room wasn’t cleaned, I was told the room is only cleaned after the third day of your stay. So I asked for four sets of towels and I was told to bring the dirty ones down to her at the front desk. I’m appalled that I paid $227.66 (plus the cleaning supplies)

Baymont Grand Haven is always a good choice if you are looking for reasonably priced pet friendly. The rooms are clean, pool is nice. Breakfast is standard hotel free breakfast with powdered eggs and rubbery sausage, but aren't all free breakfasts that way? Pancakes are good and there's all the normal breakfast options otherwise. The attendants are always very friendly and hard working, and keep the place clean and stocked. I'm not sure why the bad reviews, we've always had a good experience. If you are expecting a Cadillac on Chevy prices, you'll be disappointed, but if you are realistic, you'll see the value. We have stayed here at least 10 times and would book again because of the price, cleanliness/comfort, and it's pet friendly.

The staff was really friendly. Complimentary breakfast was appreciated. Beds were cozy. Place was safe and quiet. Suggested Improvements: 1) The rooms are definitely aging and could use a lick of paint. 2) They don’t have USB ports in the room. So don’t forget your charger brick. 3) I want a smart TV. They are so cheap these days. I don’t watch cable and commercials. Somehow there were hundreds of channels and nothing I wanted to watch.

For the money and being dog friendly, this is the best to expect in GH. Rooms are clean, breakfast is decent, price is reasonable. Good dog walking area. Way better than anyone else nearby. We stay there every few months when seeing family.
