Consider the long history of the museum, whose collection was founded in 1883 and is currently housed in the former building of the Dortmund Savings Bank. Note that the full German name of the landmark is the Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte. It opens Tuesday through Sunday from morning until late afternoon, starting later on Saturdays and closing later on Thursdays.
