Mountain View Nature’s Park is an ideal antidote to the boisterous and fast-paced streets of Cebu City. At Mountain View Nature’s Park, paths weave around a forested hillside to a collection of family-friendly attractions. Relax amid the confines of nature and partake in adventure sports. Visit a temple built out of love and drink in the views from an observation deck.
Pack your swimsuit and have fun splashing around in the pool, which features a children’s playground and fountains. Challenge your agility on a rope adventure course, where a series of hanging bridges connect between treetops. Watch as couples attach padlocks to a fence as a symbol of their union in Love Lock Garden. Spot an array of multicolored exotic plants as you walk between attractions.
In the southern section of the park is the Temple of Leah, an ode to love dedicated to the mother of Filipino actress Ellen Adarna. It has similarities to a Roman temple and is guarded by two huge golden lion statues. Inside is an art gallery, a library and memorabilia of its protagonist. The views from the courtyard down to the coastline of Cebu Island are sublime.
For more excellent views, sit on a bench at the edge of Tops Lookout. Alternatively, study the biblical scenes portrayed at the Way of the Cross or spot statues of cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh. Bring your own food to eat at the designated picnic and barbecue sites or dine on traditional Filipino dishes at the park’s restaurants.
Situated in the Busay district, the park is about a 40-minute drive from the city center. Park-operated buses depart from JY Square. Parking is available if you are arriving via rented car or motorcycle.
Mountain View Nature’s Park is open year-round and there’s an admission fee. A separate fee is applicable for the Temple of Leah, which is accessible without entering the park.
