Motel type rooms but tastefully decorated. Complimentary hot breakfast delicious. Friendly staff. Property is on a somewhat busy road so some noise. In other words, this is not a rural retreat type property.

Expected an 1800s historic hotel room based on the advertising.
Our room was on 1950’s motel room.
Breakfast was nice with nice surroundings in the breakfast room, and staff was very nice.

We are sorry to hear certain room specifics did not fit the description you read. Upon reading your reference to historic hotel, it occurs that perhaps we had been initially mistaken for the Mount Vernon Grand Hotel, which is in a historic location, also in Mount Vernon, and has multiple floors, much like a hotel. They do have some advertising that fits your description, and we have had guests mistake the two.Nonetheless, if was a pleasure to have you, and we thank you for staying with us!The Mount Vernon Inn

This old Motor court from the 50's has been lovingly transformed into a unique garden spot. Host is lovely and makes a great breakfast (which is included) and the whole experience makes you feel welcome and comfortable.
