Unusual chalet experience with improvements needed

Posted 15 Mar 2018
We stayed here for a week as the hotel offered good value for money and ski in/out. The food was excellent quality and good portions. The location is good for skiing but access to morzine in the evening is difficult due to the skidoo required to come back up the mountain to the chalet (costing €15 per person). We knew the chalet would be basic considering the price but there were elements which could have been improved: Staff professionalism - the majority of the staff were helpful but at times it felt like the guests were an afterthought. For example, on our first day, we came in to find a number of staff naked in the hot tub and getting excessively drunk during dinner. As a result we were put off using the hot tub. The bathroom - our shower head was attached using cable ties on arrival. On first use, these came off and the shower head broke. Having told two members of staff about the issue, we were promised this would be fixed by the following evening. 24 hours later it wasn’t so we asked another member of staff, who resolved the issue in 10 minutes. A reminder shouldn’t be necessary for what was an easy fix. The bins - rubbish is not collected from your room at all during the week. We had such a small bin in the room that this became an issue by the end of the week. I would recommend inferno to a large group - having an apres bar downstairs was great, the food was good, and the ability to ski from your doorstep and have such amazing views in the morning is lovely.

The most lovely, welcoming staff you could imagine

Pros: Love the location, the food, the people and the hot tub!
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
Location: It's half-way up Nyon, so it's a bit remote but great for active/outdoorsy people. There's lots to do in Morzine itself, as well as plenty of walks.
Wow, where to start! It was a real drag to get on a plane and head home after the most incredible 9 days spent at Inferno. The location seems daunting at first since it is half-way up the Col de Nyon, but the walk is really nice (there's an off-road way into town) and the guys at Inferno are often driving down if you've missed the last ski-lift. The bedroom and bathroom was immaculate when we got there, and you can tell that the team put a lot of hard work into renovating the chalet and keeping it clean & tidy. The breakfast is delicious, with warm croissants or chocolatines every morning! Eliza (the manager) made sure my gluten-intolerant partner was well catered for in the mornings, which I'm sure most chalets wouldn't go out of their way to do. The meals in the evening were fantastic and we were made to feel part of the family. I can't recommend enough this fantastic stay among a super-friendly bunch of people. Top marks!

Cool hotel, cool people

Stayed there for a few nights for biking in summer and liked it so much we extended our stay. Was really nice atmosphere with friendly English staff. Breakfast was great and we had dinner in most nights. Lifts on that side are no bikes but from the top of les gets you can ride accross so there is only a short push up from the junction with the main road. Its worth it for the price and the views. Highlights were watching the thunderstorms roll in and lounging around in the hot tub after a hard days riding. Will be coming back next summer!

A happy-go-lucky stay at the Inferno

Posted 22 Mar 2015 on Hotels
A lively place to stay with spirited sociable guests of all ages. Great skiing from here and wonderful home cooking. The music played on the terrace was not to my taste (I'm in my 50s - and didn't recognise the artists) and night times were generally disturbed by banging bathroom doors outside our room. Despite this, the staff worked hard to keep us all happy and comfortable and it was excellent value for money. One tip.... don't expect a private bathroom. If you get one, it's a bonus. A good place to take a large group.

SCANDALE, TRÈS MECONTENTS!!!!!!

Posted 23 May 2019 on Hotels
Surpris!!!!!

Posted 5 Mar 2019 on Hotels
