"Amazing cliff top sea views gorgeous empty beach. Quirky accommodation with all you need for a short stay. Host was a very friendly and helpful guy. We went by train but a car would be beneficial as although not far from the village it's a little remote with unlit dirt tracks probably ok in summer but not recommended coming home from the village pub in the dark. Great place for a February getaway

"Just a weekend away in February. Pretty dreich outside and bitterly cold, so it was a time to hunker down but our room provided space for board games and a TV. Bar was good. Swimming pool was also very good. We visited Dundee and St Andrews. I can imagine this would be beautiful in good weather but it was a lovely retreat. "

Sandman suite review

"The hotel room was ok. We had a kitchen area but the pots were not cleaned. We didn't use them, so there no issue, but it is an example of the housekeeping standards. Overall though nice hotel and would stay again."

Lovely stay at the Ardoe

"My mum and I had a lovely stay at Ardoe! Our room was great, and we enjoyed drinks in the drawing room; the bartender was brilliant. Our meal was also fantastic, highly recommend treating yourself in their restaurant although they do also have bar meals. The only downside is that the swimming pool hosts so many lessons and also seems to attract a lot of local families, so we didn't have many opportunities to use the pool. We had to get up really early to use it before lessons started, but facilities are nice and the sauna is excellent. I recommend checking the schedule on arrival so you can plan around it."
