"As an older female, and solo traveller, I found The Freddie Mercury Hotel to be very safe indeed. Conveniently located and easily accessibleat the end of the Montreux train station platform. There are shops, a small supermarket, a pharmacy, an Irish Pub, and local bus stop within minutes minutes from the hotel. And also a lift down to the lake area beside the main road. "Good value in a great location. I had a room overlooking the lake - was quiet enough given the relatively busy street below. Nice little balcony as well. Check-in was easy. Some furnishings were a bit rough around the edges but everything was clean."
