Maison Montplaisir, was misrepresented on website

Firstly, the rooms are not a reflection of the photographs displayed, and we were placed in a room that did not have direct access to a bathroom, but an outside bathroom; having expressed our reservations on the use of the said bathroom by other individuals our room was switched to another room, that clearly was not ready for accommodation, as it was never cleaned. Secondly, the bed linens, sofa bed coverings were extremely filthy, the ‘hand’ soap in the dirty and uncleaned bathroom had no substance and was basically water to wash our hands. The neighborhood [property location]is overrun by vagrants, drug addicts who loiter on the front porch and within 2 feet of the property, quite an unsafe environment for a Bed and Breakfast facility, especially to unsuspecting guests from another country. We felt unsafe due to the airconditioned unit in the room, which exposed us to the vagrants and drug addicts roaming the front the premises and the streets as the window was open to facilitate the ‘portable’ air condition unit. I am extremely disappointed that I did not get what I paid for and to further exacerbate the issue, parking was advertised as an amenity, and it was on that basis that this booking was predicated, which was a total farce, as I was advised by the Manager Robert to park up the road. Our car vandalised, as the back rear glass of my car was destroyed. We had to return ASAP to the US as we could not drive a car that was now unsafe and unsecured. Terrifying ordeal!

Hello, first, we apoligize for the vagrancy, as the Trudeau government has made their activities legal. The neighbourhood is in the process of having them expulsed. Second, we maintain high standards of cleanliness, and most of our review reflect that. Third, violence on parked cars in this area are unheard of. We are as surprised as you are, if those are the facts.

The staff here is nice and welcoming, two other families were there in this bed and breakfast and it was still a nice little visit. Thank you

Pretty good!

Our host was wonderful. The space was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We appreciated having breakfast abailable. The only drawbacks were that street parking is a challenge in this area but you can park at the property for an extra $20/day and the dish soap and hand soap were very watered down. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Furniture Mattresses, Toiletries and overall it is all below standard and safe.Not at all value for money.Accomodation is so congested and suffocating.Toilet soap,Dishwasher is mixed with lot of water and not at all hygienic. No Sir onditioning ventilation.Security system for door is so noisy and disturbing.False fire alarm causing unnecessary visit of firefighters. Only one good things behavior of Mr Robert,service with smile,very nice person.

Switch our rooms with no notice midtrip

Awful owner and establishment. We booked a room for two beds in room 1 for a two day trip. After the first night we returned on the second day to find someone else in our room. They moved all of our stuff to a different room without telling us and left some of our property in the room with the other people in it. They did not offer a clear reason for doing this and there was no advanced communication. Stay away or they will scam you too.

One of our clients has to switch rooms and didn't do it. They were out so we offered a similar room to these people. We asked them if they accepted, and they answered yes.The real scam was when these fine people turned back to Expedia and demanded a refund.

Amazing place. The owner/manager greeted me when I arrived and showed me the room. Not just said here's the key, room 3, but showed me the room, where everything was kept, and how to work the remote. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The bathroom was small, but spotless. The kitchen was set up for breakfast in the morning, and the coffee was good.
