LOVED my stay here. I’d choose this place over any fancy hotel any day. Louise (spelling?) was so nice and accommodating. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. Again, Louise made sure there were options for my 2 year old. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Charming old stone storybook house, sweet and friendly proprietors. It has the feel of a youth hostel, with a little outside garden, piano, shared bath and kitchen access. You get to old town via a walk and metro ride, and it's just fine if you are not in a rush. The vieux neigborhood surrounding the 'refuge' is interesting and there's a walking path nearby where you can see all the people who live here walking their dogs and so on....delightful!

Design of the room, arts, tranquility, and home-like atmosphere of the room. It was a pleasure to stay there.

This is a really charming place with a very kind and nice host. The place is steps away to nice restaurants, walking and cycling area.
Some downsides of an old house are that rooms are small (at least mine was), with tiny fridge and tiny table, no ventilation in the room or in the shared bathroom (so it can only be controlled by opening/closing windows), water drainage in the sink and the bathroom could be improved as well.

Thank you for enjoying your stay in our accommodation. The Poet's Refuge is a century-old house from 1854. At that time, the rooms were small to conserve heat. This is the reason why we were not able to put a private bathroom in each bedroom although the ''Poetry'' bedroom has one since it was the master bedroom of the house. We are taking note of areas for improvement in the near future.Kind regards,

I booked a 3 night stay at Le Refuge du Poete in Longueuil, Quebec for a stay July 20-23. It is listed on Expedia and on Hotels.com as a B&B. IT DOES NOT SERVE BREAKFAST! I specifically booked it to have the breakfast included before heading into Montreal for business. I was very disappointed. It was too late once I had slept the first night to change my reservation. The description must be changed as it is misleading.

Dear Cindy,We apologize for any confusion caused by the absence of breakfast during your recent stay at Le Refuge du Poete. We understand that it was an important aspect of your booking, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please note that breakfast was offered as an option in the past, but we made the decision to discontinue it this year. We will update the description to reflect this change accurately. We appreciate your understanding and hope you had an enjoyable stay otherwise. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.Warm regards,

Great hospitality, would recommend this stay to anyone traveling to Montreal area. Nice place to stay outside of the city, convenient location with many dining options within walking distance.
