We spent two nights at Pacific Grove Inn during our trip to California. The room was spacious, well equipped and was very clean. The location is fantastic, lots of restaurants within walking distance, grocery stores and a really good coffee shop down the road. Lovers point is a short walk, the Pacific Grove entrance gate to the 17-mil drive is only three mins away and the Monterey Bay aquarium is 5mins away. The house is located opposite to the police station and that also makes you feel extra safe. The only downside is there is no fridge in the room, there is a communal fridge in the main house. It was an hassle as we were travelling with a toddler who needs milk early in the morning. Another point to note is that there is no one on site to help with check-in etc. All messages were replied to really quickly so not a big deal.

Please issue a refund. Had to find another place at last minute because this was a fraud deal. A very small room was given in an another building which I refused and they cancelled after my complaints about the checkin and location Requesting Expedia to refund and remove this listing as it is nothing close to what is shown in pictures

A decent location, but place felt like a boarding house. The room had ancient furniture and carpet, not very clean. The TV remote was sticky and disgusting, had to use it with a washcloth wrapped around. The shower was ridiculously outdated and barely useable, with a trickle of water - don't blame the CA low-flow regs! Building needs some serious TLC and updating. It's Pacific Grove, a year-round tourist destination, they aren't hurting for income, invest and improve!

The property is very nice, parking was plentiful. It’s an older house that has been well maintained. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Check in is via key code and there was no issue. I can’t really give more than four stars regarding staff and service as I had no physical experience with any of the staff. We would stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay at Pacific Grove Inn. We would definitely return. The building is historical and beautiful. We understand the house is old, but the reason for my “overall” 4 star rating instead of 5..? Is because the shower had VERY little pressure. That improved and I would say 5 star.

We couldn't figure out how to light the fireplace. They need to have shades to block out the streetlight. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. As much as they charge for the room (per night) get a Sleep number bed with a pillow top mattress.

Pros: Very clean, quaint 1910 ish place.Good hot water! Good price for the area. Cons: Nightly temps got down in 40's. No central heat, from Texas, I was cold the first 4 nights. On 5th night we saw the little electric portable room heater to use and that improved the temperature drastically! Should have a note in room about no heat (even though there is a non functioning thermostat on wall) and have instructions on portable heat units availability and how to use it! Fireplace in room but could not get it to turn on. If it works, should have directions on how to turn it on! Parking is super tight A lot of maneuvering to get in and out! I would hesitate to stay again unless it was the best priced place available in the area! If cleanliness is important to you, and you want quaint and historic, then jump on this place!
