Resort managed by security guards
Posted 19 Jul 2019 on HotelsOn check in we were advised that the office closes at 5pm and for any assistance we should call security.What we were not told is that the telephone lines were down, that we would not have electricity on the Tuesday and that there would be no water. At 8.30am on Tuesday a security guard advised us that the power will be off until 4pm that day. At 4.30 pm the power was back but no water. I then tried contacting the office no answer, then security no answer as the phones were down. I duly drove to security office only to be advised that there is no water and they will deliver water to flush the toilets.I requested to speak to the General Manager, security guard could not oblige with a cell no, he then gave me the resident managers number, who was not available on her cell. Next morning we had water but it was cold, 2 days without being able to shower. I contacted the Manager on duty and inquired why we were not advised of all the above issues and why she did not return my calls. To many excuses to mention, but blamed it all on security for not informing the quest.I also told her about the dirty carpets in our chalet, "look of surprise on her face, but no mention of sending someone to clean it". I mentioned that I would write a review and all she did was shrug her shoulders.The wifi did not work for our entire stay.Well i will never go back there again, I must say that the security guards were very helpful and if they managed the resort it would be a better place to stay!!!!!!!

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review. We sincerely apologise for the negative experience you had during your recent stay with us. All criticism, be it positive or negative is viewed very seriously and is dealt with accordingly. We pride ourselves on the high standard of guest experience that we offer and in your case we obviously failed!
On Monday evening we were notified that the electricity would be off in Montagu due to ESKOM that needed to effect urgent repairs. On that same evening we did notify all our guests about the fact that the electricity would be off the Tuesday from 08h00 until 16h00. When the electricity is off this does have an effect the water supply from our local Municipality as the water is provided via pumps from the local reservoir. To add injury to insult, the electricity supply that powers the water pumps was vandalised and the result of this was that the area did not have water until around 19h00 on the Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, we were not informed of this until after the fact. To add to our issues of that time, the TELKOM telephone cables were stolen which resulted in the area not having telephone connections for more than a week.
Although the above is by no means an excuse, I wanted to make you aware of the awful situation we were in, which affected your stay with us.
I thank you for your comments about my security staff,who did try and assist through this difficult period for us.
Again , my sincere apologies about your negative experience and again I thank you for your review, which assists us in improving our all round service and our future Guests experience at our Resort.

Awesome
Posted 29 Jan 2018 on HotelsThe weekend was great, we got lost with directions, but arrived safely. The aircon was amazing in the unit, but the bedding, curtains, etc. is a bit old/outdated. Very clean and neat.

We left a shopping bag with groceries & a flask in the chalet . The management phoned us as soon as we arrived home to inform us that the cleaning staff had found it & handed it in . Full marks for honesty from all .

Do me a favor, skip this place!!!
Posted 15 Mar 2016It was really bad!! after booking through Expedia we were promised that we would be able to check in late but when we came the hotel had no documentary about our booking!! we were left to be handled by the security guard who tried to reach his boss ...
we had to wait an hour until we could get inside the room and they made us pay a second time the full amount again even though we had the itinerary number and showed document and proof of our payment! they were very primitive and pretty helpless.. I was willing to give them all my credit information incase they would see that the payment did not go through but apparently it was out of the question!!
Finally we got into our room to be disappointed by the filthy Place filled with cockroaches sticky surfaces
