expensive experience
Posted 27 Feb 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Staff were very pleasant
Cons: The only place to sit and watch television was a dining room chair. Tv very small screen up on top of cupboard
Location: You could ride a horse or walk in the grounds otherwise miles from anywhere
Very expensive for the type of accomodation. Had to stay there because of a wedding we attended at that venue. Was told we had to stay two nights which was apparently untrue as we met people who had only booked in for one. Felt we were taken for a ride

Disappointed
Posted 19 Oct 2016 on Lastminute
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Stayed in a family room, which was very small, outdated furniture and furnishings, bathroom too small and old and not very clean. Stayed for 3 nights and our room was not even cleaned or towels changed, I found out by accident that you have to request to have your room serviced and it is an additinal charge, they don't advertise this on their website or their lack of poor quality WiFi.

Peacefull among the mountains and river

Pros: Loved the easy access for people with difficulty navigating steps. With ramps and timber walkways around the accomodation.
Cons: Hot water service didn't work so feel that can be corrected.
The chairs for the ceremony could have been wiped down.
Reduce rates, expensive to stay
Location: Bush walking, canoeing, swimming in the river, horse riding, bird watching and photographing.
I stayed in the rooms. I went for a wedding and the staff were wonderful. The setting for the ceremony was picture perfect by the river. Followed by a picnic lunch by the river with games on the grassed area. Loved the birds that visited us during the afternoon.
The BBQ facilities were modern and very suitable for our evening meal.
Then we had songs and marshmallows by the campfire to complete the day's events, it was a beautiful wedding and venue.

A bit of glamp while the rest camped!

Pros: Very clean & had everything you would need if you don't plan on self catering. Fridge is 1/2 size of a standard bar fridge - needs to be bigger.
Cons: I was happy with everything that I had arranged.
Location: We loved the absolute freedom of the grounds and went for long walks everyday. It had everything I needed to disconnect & unwind.
I went up for the long weekend and knowing the area from previous years opted to stay in a room instead of a tent with the colder weather. We were blessed incredibly warm days and prepared for chilly nights.
The grounds were beautiful & well maintained and even allowed you to go off the beaten track and venture in to the wilderness.
I took my 2 yo border collie, Brocky, and he loved the grounds. Every other dog owner was very aware of their pets and allowed interaction under watchful eyes.
He did come home and needed a trip to the vet with an infection in his eye - hard to say if it was the long grass or another dog - nothing a bit of medicine can't fix.
The room was clean and well above my expectations. Always reluctant with pet friendly accommodation but the staff undeniably take pride in their accommodation.
The grounds man was a little gruff with the crew camping - they had moved bins on the final day to their campsite to do the right thing - leave nothing but their footprints - and he chipped them for it. Perhaps locating bins in every part of the campground could avoid unpleasant interactions like this.
Otherwise absolutely loved it and will recommend it to all my friends and family with pets - especially loved that I had zero phone reception and nothing but beautiful landscape.
I will be back again :)
